Apollo Tyres Pays INR 579 Crore For The Rights To The India Jersey
Updated - 17-SEP-2025 6:5 IST

In a historic move for Indian cricket, Apollo Tyres outbid rivals for the jersey sponsorship rights for Team India, striking a record INR 579 crore agreement. According to the agreement, which was approved by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Apollo Tyres' logo would appear on the shirts of the Indian men's, women's, and under-19 teams in every format.
Historical Deal For 5 Years
The agreement is one of the most valuable jersey sponsorship deals in world cricket, and it is said to last for five years. Apollo Tyres takes up for the outgoing sponsor, whose deal expired earlier this year. With India's unmatched cricket fan base, Apollo earns great international exposure through this collaboration.
About the Deal
Given the value differential between bilateral and ICC matches, there may be minor variations, but the contract comes to over INR 4.77 crore per game. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) established the basic price at INR 1.5 crore for World Cup matches and INR 3.5 crore for bilateral matches.
Why This Matters
One of cricket's most sought-after economic assets for a long time has been jersey sponsorships. After the Dream11 ban in India, India has a full international schedule that includes bilateral series, ICC events, and high-profile tours. India is trying to sponsor the jersey. India participates in the current Asia Cup 2025 cricket without a sponsor.
The brand of Apollo Tyres will be continuously promoted. The INR 579 crore contract, according to analysts, not only increases the BCCI's revenue streams but also establishes new standards for cricket sponsorship value.
