On 15 September, the second day of the Asia Cup 2025 match was played between Sri Lanka and Hong Kong. Sri Lanka beat Hong Kong by 4 wickets. Pathum Nissanka scored 68 runs. Sri Lanka's official qualification for the Super 4 stage became the second team after India.

Wanindu Hasaranga's spin, however, continued to destroy the middle order as wickets fell. In 20 overs, Hong Kong finally collapsed for 149.

They won by 4 wickets after reaching 153/6 in 18.5 overs.

Sri Lanka Officially Qualifies for Super 4, Hong Kong Knocks Out
After this win against Hong Kong, Sri Lanka became the second team to qualify for the Super 4 after India. Otherwise, Hong Kong lost all three of its matches in the group stage and was eliminated from the tournament.
