IPL 2024 mini-auction to be held in Dubai on December 19: 1166 players have registered: Base price of 25 is ₹ 2 crore
The IPL 2024 auction will take place on December 19 in Dubai. This will be the first time that the IPL auction is being held outside the country. IPL administration has given this information on social media. This time, compared to last year, teams will have Rs 5 crore more to buy players.
Last season, the franchise had an amount of Rs 95 crore set aside for the team. This time Rs 100 crore has been earmarked for preparing the team. Besides, the teams will also have the remaining amount of the previous season 2023.
166 players have registered for IPL auction
1166 players have registered for IPL auction. These include 830 Indian and 336 foreign players. England fast bowler Joffra Archer did not name his name among the foreign players.
Big foreign players like Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Gerald Cooties and Rachin Ravindra will enter the auction. Indian players include big names like Harshal Patel, Shardul Thakur, Umesh Yadav and Jaydev Unadkat. Their price can go beyond Rs 10 crore.
Only 77 players have vacant places in 10 teams
The 10 teams participating in the tournament have retained most of their players. Therefore, a maximum of 77 players can be bought, out of which 30 will be foreigners. The teams have Rs 262.95 crore left, the purse of each team this time will be Rs 100 crore.
Base price of 25 players Rs 2 crore
The base price of 25 players in the auction is Rs 2 crore, out of which there are 7 players from Australia and 4 from India. The base price of Australia's Pat Cummins, Travis Head, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Steve Smith, Josh Inglis and Sean Abbott is Rs 2 crore. Harshal Patel, Kedar Jadhav, Shardul Thakur and Umesh Yadav have the highest base prices among Indians.
Apart from these, the bidding for 20 players will start at Rs 1.50 crore and the bidding for 16 players will start at Rs 1 crore. The base price of the remaining 1105 players is between Rs 20 to 95 lakh.
