The Kerala Cricket Association (KCA) has issued a show cause notice against former Indian cricketer S. Sreesanth. KCA said, the notice has been issued for making false statements against the association and not for supporting Sanju Samson.

Actually Sreesanth had supported Sanju Samson for not playing in the domestic season matches. KCA wrote in its press note, a person like Sreesanth, who has ever been involved in the betting case, should not take responsibility for the safety of the players. The Kerala Cricket Board also reminded him that it was Kerala Cricket that had brought Sreesanth back after the ban was lifted.

Sreesanth was accused of betting: KCA

According to Kerala website Online Manorama, KCA said in its statement, BCCI had held him guilty in the match fixing and betting case, due to which he was banned for life. However, later BCCI reduced it to 7 years.

The board said, Kerala Cricket Association has always protected its players. Sreesanth was accused of betting. Which was a dark chapter of Indian cricket.

Association is working only for its own interests: Sreesanth

On this entire controversy, Sreesanth told Malayalam News Online Manorama, he will stand with his fellow players, be it Sanju Samson, Sachin Baby or Nidhish. He accused Kerala Cricket of giving preference to players from outside states instead of Malayali players, due to which domestic players are facing difficulty in making a place in the national team.

He further said, Sachin Baby was the second highest run scorer in the last domestic season, yet he did not get a place in the Duleep Trophy team. Why was KCA silent on this? The association is working only for its own interests.
