Preview :

1.03pmIt is time for the third and final ODI of this three-match ODI series between South Africa and India. South Africa have already sealed the series with clinical performances in the first two ODIs and will now be eyeing a whitewash to complete what has been a superb series for them. India, on the other hand, came into this South African tour with very high hopes but things have gone downhill after the historic win in the first Test. India were expected to come back strongly after a disappointing Test series but they have been completely outplayed in the ODI series so far. Over the years, South Africa are known for their pace bowling but it has been their spin trio of Tabraiz Shamsi, Keshav Maharajand Aiden Markramthat have troubled India the most and have outbowled the Indian spin duo of Ravichandran Ashwinand Yuzvendra Chahal. South African batting has also looked more settled with openers, Quinton de Kockand Janneman Malanbuilding a solid partnership at the top of the order while Bavuma and Rassie van der Dussenhave continued their fine form. On the other hand, India put on a better performance with the bat in the second ODI with Pant scoring a counter-attacking fifty but the bowling lacked penetration and it turned out to be a walk in the park for South Africa in the end. The performance of Shardul Thakuras an all-rounder is probably the only positive for India and we might see some changes in the playing 11 with the series already out of grasp. We might also see some changes in the South African team as they build towards the next World Cup but a win will still be a primary objective for both these teams. The series now moves to Newlands, Cape Town and South Africa are now favourites to register another victory. Can India avoid a whitewash here? Or will South Africa make it 3-0? Some exciting action awaits us.
