Pitch Report :

The Pitch at the DY Patil Sports Academy is normally a good one for batting. There will be help for the spinners as well, especially in the first innings. The new ball will move a little under the lights. There is dew in the later half so teams will look to chase after winning the toss. Because of chasing sides have won 9 out of 15 matches played here.

The average first innings total here is 170 runs.

Preview :

Chennai Super Kings will take on Delhi Capitals in the 55th match of IPL 2022 on Sunday. Chennai Super Kings have had a season to forget so far managing only 3 wins in 10 matches and are currently placed ninth in the table. They lost the previous match and need to put up an improved performance. On the other hand, Delhi Capitals kept their hopes alive winning the previous match against Sunrisers Hyderabad. They are fifth in the table and a win here will put them in a comfortable position.

CSK will be happy playing against DC at the DY Patil Stadium. It has won two out of the three matches it has played at that venue and will have at least some good memories from that. The team, though, needs a lot of work to be done before it can be considered a top T20 team once more.
We like the fact that both Devon Conway and Moeen Ali are back in the lineup for CSK. That could match up well against the left-arm heavy bowling lineup that DC has. Conway has two consecutive fifties to his name and could be one batter that you can back in this match. Robin Uthappa, Amabati Rayadu, and Ravindra Jadeja will form the middle order with Doni and Pretorius coming in to finish off at the end. We could see some changes and Dwayne Bravo being brought back or even Jadeja being rested if he has a slight niggle from the injury he picked up in the previous match.

DC played what pant described as almost the perfect game with the bat in their previous match. David Warner continued his incredible form and showed just how big a steal he was for DC with 92 not out while Rovman Powell also seems to have hit form in his last couple of outings. Both these players propelled DC beyond 200 and helped them get a crucial win. There are some problems in the batting lineup, though.
DC is likely to be without Prithvi Shaw and Axar Patel for this next match as well. Mandeep Singh looked lost during the few deliveries he faced and Axar Patel has been adding much-needed depth to the lineup. Without them, the opening partnership is vulnerable and there is one all-rounder lesser to bail DC out if needed.
Mitchell Marsh has shown promise but struggled and Pant has not yet come up with a big inning either. Lalit Yadav and Ripal Patel are not going to give CSK any nightmares and so DC's batting is certainly one that can crumble with a couple of early wickets.

Ambati Rayudu is the 2nd highest run-getter for CSK & got 1 half-century this season, so his scoring spree looks set to continue. Must have for GL as a captain if CSK's top order collapse early.

Scored just 10 runs in last match, But batted well against Lucknow smashed 37 off 19 balls before getting out. He is a very good batting all-rounder, who has played only 25 matches in his IPL career, scoring 299 runs with an average of eighteen, and also taking 21 wickets from bowling. Has bowled in the last match, so now he can contribute with both bat and bowling. This match will have the best captain for the grand league.

Ravindra Jadeja :

The season has been full of ups and downs for Ravindra Jadeja. Not able to perform well with both bat and ball. He has got only 116 runs and has picked up five wickets. In the last four matches, he has scored only 28 runs and has not been able to take any wicket. But he is a quality player and can be expected to fire. He should be there in your fantasy team.

Moeen Ali :

Moeen Ali is a fine all-rounder who can able to turn the match with both & ball. Showing his all-round talent in the last match, he played an innings of 34 runs with the bat and took two wickets with the bowling giving only 28 runs and would be eager to repeat that performance. He has picked up 14 wickets from eight matches, he is the leading wicket-taker for CSK in the competition. expected to return to the lineup after missing last two previous game.
