Pitch Report :

The pitch at the Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai is a balanced pitch. Run scoring will be easy here and the batters will dominate like on the other venues. Spinners from both the innings will be very crucial as the ball may stop a little off the surface. Movement with the new ball will be minimal for the pacers especially in the first innings. Batting second will be a good option on this pitch as dew will make a huge factor in the second innings.
The average 1st innings score at this venue is 190 which strongly suggests the high run-scoring nature of this venue.

Weather Report :

The temperature is expected to hover around 37°C on the Friday with 60% humidity and 20 km/hr wind speed. There are no chances of rain during the game.

Preview :

Delhi Capitals faced a massive setback a couple of days ago after two of their overseas players contracted covid. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh and wicketkeeper batter Tim Siefert were tested covid positive along with three support staff members.
Meanwhile, Covid didn’t affect the Delhi performance as they absolutely outplayed Punjab Kings (PBKS) last night. Delhi registered a 9 wickets emphatic victory against Punjab Kings in the Brabourne Stadium.

Delhi’s power-packed bowling performance rightly complemented by the blistering batting helped them conquer the Punjab challenge convincingly in just 11 overs. With the win, Delhi added two more points to its kitty. Currently, DC stands at sixth position with three wins and as many losses in the IPL 2022.
On the other side, Rajasthan Royals (RR) are certainly enjoying their outing in the Tata IPL 2022 despite a few glaring imbalances in the side. The inaugural champions have often found a way to ride on the back of their experienced players and seize crucial moments in the games.
Having played six matches, Sanju Samson and co have managed to put the stamp of authority in four games. The Pink army are currently placed in the third spot with eight rating points.

The contest between Delhi and Rajasthan would be highly interesting as the race to the playoff is getting intense with each passing day. The qualification scenarios have begun getting complicated and no team wants to get involved in the final permutation and combinations.

Owing to the covid outburst in the Delhi camp, the venue for the contest against Rajasthan Royals has been shifted to Wankhede Stadium to avoid travelling.
