Preview :
After losing the first T20I at the Rose Bowl in Southampton, England will take on Australia in the second T20I of the three-match series on September 13. The game will be played at the Sophia Gardens in Cardiff. It will be a must-win clash for Englishmen to stay relevant in the three-match series.
Phil Salt-led England haven’t been through an expected run of form in the last five T20Is they have played, losing three and winning only two games. They are coming off a 28-run defeat against the Aussies in the series opener of the ongoing T20I series. A win in this game will help them level the series and take the result to the third and last T20I fixture of the series.
On the other hand, Australia are coming off four consecutive wins in their last five T20Is; it also includes an amazing 3-0 win in the T20I series against Scotland. Mitchell Marsh’s men will be eyeing winning this game and securing the series with an unassailable lead of 2-0.
The hosts are unsurprisingly facing some-teething issues as they look at a white-overhaul, with a plethora of inexperienced players in their team, while the visiting side seems more settled. Phil Salt and his men will be looking to take the confidence after Travis Head's early onslaught but will want their batting to click with home advantage on their side.
