Pitch Report :

The Old Trafford’s pitch is known to provide help fast bowlers and we could expect pacers again dominating the game. Here there is bounce on the pitch, which can prove to be helpful for both the bowlers and the batsmen. The pitch is flat but does offer a bit of help to the spinners. The size of the ground is also quite big and the spinners will be able to bowl with a bit of aggression. The team that wins the toss may decide to bowl because of chashing little easy here.

The average first innings score at this venue is 260 runs.

Preview :

India and England are all set to lock in the final of the three-match ODI series as Manchester’s Old Trafford prepares for the contest. With the series at 1-1. England emphatically won the second ODI at Lords by 100 runs. Both the teams have seemingly blown hot and cold in terms of their performances on the pitch and this the match that is supposedly going to decide the series winner looks to be pretty much evenly poised. England after their dominant performance in the recent match will look to clinch the series with another clinical performance. While on the other hand, India will look to initiate a comeback after letting go of the 2nd ODI at lords. It remains to be seen as to who emerges the winner when both these sides take the field at Manchester on the 17th.

England struggled with the bat in the first match and seemed to be going a similar way in the second match as well before Moeen Ali bailed the team out with help from David Willey. The depth in the batting lineup is England's biggest advantage. There are so many quality players that there is always someone coming that can bat even after losing 4-5 early wickets. However, the fact that India's bowlers have been able to put the English batters on the backfoot in every match should not be discounted.

India would have been confident of winning the second match after having less than 250 to chase. With the kind of performance we saw from the Indian batters in the first match, this promised to be a breeze but that did not happen. Not a single batter from India passed 30 and betting against Virat Kohli paid off once more. Painful as it may be for his fans, betting against Kohli has been our most profitable bet in these last few months. Yes, there will be a time when he scores runs.
India's bowling has been very good in both matches. Apart from being a bit poor in the field and giving away some easy runs during the final few overs in the previous match, India's bowlers always kept the pressure on the England batters. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami have been effective with the new ball but once again, we like Yuzvendra Chahal for the Top Bowler India market once more. He will get some help from the surface and will pose questions to the English batters.

Liam Livingstone is an amazing destructive batting allrounder who has able to turn the match within few balls. He can get the big scores and smashed sixes for fun. He can also be handy with the ball and hence, he's scored 175 runs at an average of 35.00 and strike rate of 131.57 & also picked up 4 wickets in 8 matches.
