Galle Titans held off a charging Dambulla Aura in their opening fixture of the competition. Batting first, the Titans put up 180 on the board off the back of sparkling 40s from Bhanuka Rajapaksa and captain Dasun Shanaka. While Aura managed to level up the scores to secure a thrilling tie in the initial contest, Shanaka and co. emerged victorious in the subsequent nail-biting Super Over.
B-Love Kandy, formerly known as Kandy Falcons, fell 27 runs short of Colombo Strikers in their opening match of the LPL 2023 season.
