Match : Gujarat Titans vs Mumbai Indians

Venue : Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai

Date & Time : 6th May Friday at 7:30 PM IST

H2H Record :

These two sides have never faced each other and this would be their first match.

Pitch Report :

Brabourne has been one of the best venues for batting in IPL 2022. The dimensions of the ground are not that big and the flat pitch assists the batters quite well. DC scored a massive 207 runs in the last night here. There is a bit of bounce on the surface that could make the fast bowlers from both teams more effective. Teams may look to win the toss and bat first. Because chasing sides have won 11 out of 13 games played here.

The average first innings score here is 180 runs.

Weather Report :

The temperature is expected to hover to around 35°C on the Friday with 76% humidity and 20 km/hr wind speed. There are no chances of rain during the game.

Probable XI :

Mumbai Indians :

Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma (c), Tim David, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Kieron Pollard, Hrithik Shokeen, Daniel Sams, Jasprit Bumrah, Kumar Kartikeya, Riley Meredith.

Gujarat Titans :

Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Hardik Pandya (c), David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Pradeep Sangwan, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammed Shami.

Preview :

Gujarat Titans will be squaring off against Mumbai Indians for the first time in the fifty-first match of this season of the Tata IPL. The Gujarat Titans, sitting right at the top of the standings, will be playing the Mumbai Indians, who are currently at the bottom of the barrel.
MI has finally ended its losing streak and won its first match while the Gujarat Titans lost the previous match they played. Surprisingly, all of the best IPL betting sites in India and around the world are offering identical odds for the Gujarat Titans and Mumbai Indians to win this match.

The Gujarat Titans suffered only their second loss in the previous match against PBKS as captain Hardik Pandya made the slightly strange decision of choosing to bat first after winning the toss. Once again. GT struggled with its batting as Shubman Gill and Hardik Pandya failed to get going.
These two are the mainstays of the GT batting lineup and for both of them to lose form at the same time should send alarm bells ringing. Wriddhiman Saha got the side off to a quick start but he is not someone you expect to get the big scores. He tends to throw away his wicket after getting set.
It was David Miller who was bailing the side out game after game with support from Rahul Tewatia and Rashid Khan. When these players failed, it was only Sai Sudharshan who managed to get the side to some sort of a defensible total.
In the end, though, GT was short by at least 30 runs. Despite GT winning most of its matches, we are a bit unsure about their batting and think another such batting performance may be in store. Maybe they could drop Alzarri Joseph and include another batsman to improve the balance of the side but that will put pressure on Pandya to bowl.

MI finally played a lineup that seemed to be its strongest. They brought back Tim David in the side and he scored a crucial 20 from 9 deliveries to close out the match. With Kieron Pollard, Tim David, and Daniel Sams in the lineup, MI now has a batting lineup that is filled with power from top to bottom.
of course, we still have not seen the best of Rohit Sharma or Ishan Kishan at the top but they will have the freedom to play their shots. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma in the middle are currently the backbone of this MI lineup.
We would pick between one of these two to be the top batsman for MI in this match.
MI's bowling has seemed particularly vulnerable in this series and we still think that problem has not been completely resolved. Its two spinners of choice, Hrithik Shokeen and Kumar Kartikeya, are strictly average. They could struggle if one of Hardik Pandya or David Miller or even Rahul Tewatia gets stuck into them.

Overall he has scored 225 runs in 9 matches at an average of 28.12 and a strike rate of 111.38. He has a top score of 81 and has scored 2 half centuries. One of the best option in wicket keeper department.

Batters :

Rohit Sharma :

Rohit Sharma no doubt he is a one of the top batter in modern cricket. But is not in good form this season, scored just 2 runs in last match this is the third time in the last 4 matches that he has been dismissed for a single digit score. Overall he has mustered 155 runs, he's got some good starts. Hence, he can be backed to come good. The big scores haven't come for Rohit Sharma in this tournament, can scorer big today, wiil be a best captain choice for the Grand League.

Shubman Gill :

Shubman Gill is a technically strong Batter. He's started the season with a bang but has had a few failures in the last few matches. He has scored 269 runs with the average of 26.90. unfortunately got run out in last match. However, he is a quality player and can be backed to come good. Punt pick.

Suryakumar Yadav :

Suryakumar Yadav has been in top form with the bat and he's a backbone for MI. He has scored 290 runs in seven games with three fifties and has a strike-rate of 147.20. He made a significant contribution to his team's first win of the season by scoring a brilliant half-century (51of 39) in the last match. will be a top captaincy option.

Tilak Varma :

Tilak Verma has been very impressive this season. He is the leading run scorer for MI. He has managed to maintain his composure throughout the series with consistent contributions. He scored 307 runs while averaging 43.85 and strikes at 137.05. In 9 matches. He has scored 36, 26, 51*, 38 and 35 in his past five innings. Tilak has managed to make a distinct identity for itself in the star-studded team. Will be a solid option as a c/vc.

David Miller :

David Miller looking in magnificent touch, seems to be hitting the ball realy well. In the last match against Punjab, he was dismissed after scoring only 11 runs. He has struck 287 runs at an average of 57.40 and strike rate of 145.68 in IPL 2022. Which should give him to confidence do continue hi finishing mentality. Must have pick.

Kieron Pollard:

Kieron Pollard is a T20 specialist plyer but in this season his strike rate has slightly dropped as compared to the previous season. Scored 10 runs against Rajasthan in the last match, didn't take any wicket, before the against Lucknow while bowling brilliantly took 2 wickets for only 8 runs. Overall this season, 117 runs have been scored in nine matches with an average of 16.71 and three wickets in bowling. Solid pick for GL.

Sai Sudharsan :

Sai Sudharsan is an impressive young talent batting allrounder who is capable of playing big innings with restraint as seen in the last match played a useful innings of 65 runs against Punjab. He tried his best to help the batting side after the team lost quick wickets. He has scored 131 runs in 4 matches at an average of 43.66 and a strike rate of 127.18. Will be solid differential pick for this match.

All-rounders :

Hardik Pandya :

Hardik Pandya is a quality allrounder & leading from the front his team. He is the leading run scorer for GT with 309 runs at an average of 44.14 and a strike-rate of 132.05. He have taken 4 wickets as well. But hasn't bowled in the last few games but he has been batting well in this tournament strucked 3 half century so far. Haven't been able to do much in the last 3 matches, his scores are 10, 3 and 1 in his past three matches. Default c/vc option for today's game.

Daniel Sams :

Daniel Sams is a utility player for MI. He has played six matches in the season so far in which he has managed to take 7 wickets and has taken wickets in every match since the last 4 matches. Sam's might have been little expensive, but has he is useful with bowling as well as is capable of playing good innings in batting as well. One of the best option in allrounder section.

Hrithik Shokeen :

Hrithik Shokeen is talented young allrounder who impress everyone with his performance. He has played only three matches in the season with no wickets in the first two matches. Bowling well against Rajasthan in the last match, took two wickets for 47 runs in his spell. Didn't get a chance to bat in the last match. Played a useful innings of 25 runs in his first match against CSK. Will be useful options for this match.

Rahul Tewatia :

Rahul Tewatia is a handy All-rounder and can do the job with both bat and ball, he's doing fantastic job especially with the bat in this season. He has won Gujarat a few games on his own with his explosive batting. He has struck 190 runs at an average of 38 and strike rate of 152.23. In the last match out on a just 11 runs, before that against Bangalore, scored 43 runs in only 25 balls to win the match for his team. Earlier, against Hyderabad, he had played an innings of 40 runs in only 21 balls. Must have pick

Bowlers :

Rashid Khan :

Rashid-Khan is a great player in T20 formet. He is bowling really well and has picked up nine wickets at an economy rate of 6.92. He has also scored 71 runs while striking at 191.89. Rashid might have been a little bit rusty with his bowling off late but his best performance of 3/22 was at this venue and thus we can expect him to come good as Mumbai batters are already struggling a lot against Spin. Must have pick.

Mohammed Shami :

Mohammed Shami has been superb with the ball in this tournament. He has ability to bowl good line, length & swing the ball early on and has now added more variations to his bowling. He has picked up 15 wickets in 10 matches and has an economy rate of 8.07, with being wicketless only once. Shami was able to add 1 wicket in the last match to maintain his place as the leading wicket-taker in the team. Can he's provides some early breakthrough in this match. Best captain choice for GL.

Jasprit Bumrah:

Jasprit Bumrah is a death overs specialist as well bowled 1 or 2 overs in Powerplay. He has not lit up the IPL in the way he did in the past couple of seasons managing just 5 wickets from his 9 matches. In the last 5 matches, he has been able to take only 1 wicket, while the bowling very well & economical, And this is the third time in the last four matches that he did not get any wicket. However, this doesn't change the fact that he is one of the key players for Ml and might finally hit the top of his mark in this game. Will be a great pick for grand league.

Lockie Ferguson :

Lockie Ferguson hasn't been in good form lately but he is an excellent pacer and a key player for the Gujarat Titans. Lockie bowls at high pace and can be very effective against the MI. Ferguson has contributed 11 wickets for the Titans. He will be bowling the crucial overs and can hunt wickets in bunches. He will be a terrific choice from the bowling department.

Riley Meredith :

Riley Meredith has bowled well in this IPL 2022. The Australian fast bowler has picked up five wickets in three matches including four in his last two games at an economy rate of 7.41. He has been an important addition to the squad, he bowled very well & economical so far. There will be a good option for this match from the bowling section.

Alzarri Joseph:

Alzarri Joseph is one of the main pacers for Gujarat and is in good form as well. He has picked at least one wicket in every match except the last match, that he has played till now. He will bowl in the power play and in the death overs. He has played 5 matches so far this season in which he has also taken 5 wickets. Not able to take any wicket against PBKS in the last match. Joseph can be the best differential option for your fantasy team.

Pradeep Sangwan :

Pradeep Sangwan looked out of form in last match not able to take any wicket, but before that he is took 2 wickets for 19 runs in his spell while bowling superb economical. Recently,
the domestic season has been very good for them. Talking about T20, he has taken 18 wickets in the last 10 T20 matches. He has played 40 matches in his IPL career, in which he has taken 37 wickets. Very good bowlers, good
performance will be expected in this match. Punt pick.

Kumar Kartikeya :

Kumar Kartikeya bowled brilliantly while debuting against Rajasthan in the last match, if he gets a little help from the picth, then it will prove to be very useful for that condition. The wrist spinner took only one wicket in the last match. But conceded only 19 runs in his 4 overs spell. In the last match, he made many variations in his bowling. Punt pick.
