Preview :

Bangladesh will be locking horns with India in the third One Day International at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram on Saturday, December 10. Even though this is a dead-rubber clash, the hosts have a perfect opportunity to register a 3-0 whitewash against the Indian team having already sealed the series. Bangladesh still need to do some work on their bowling and batting departments.

India on the other hand have only got themselves to blame for conceding the series despite being in strong positions in both the ODIs. They had Bangladesh on the mat at 136/9 chasing 187 in first ODI and let it completely slip away as Mehidy Hasan Miraz and Mustafizur Rahman’s 51 runs for the final wicket helped the hosts in getting over the line successfully.

India have lost 3 in out of 4, of the key international tours. They suffered a 5-0 whitewash in South Africa, a 2-0 loss in the three-match series in New Zealand, and are on the verge of a 3-0 loss in Bangladesh. There are absolutely no justifications for how they handled the second ODI. In the first place, the squad selection was pitiful, and it was a strange choice to have no leg spinners. In both games, India’s death bowling was poor. If they want to win games, they have a lot to improve on.

Bangladesh were able to continue their streak of not losing an ODI series at home since 2016 after surviving a scare from Rohit Sharma in the second ODI. They showed that they are one of the top candidates for the upcoming world cup in India by being simply brilliant with the ball in both games. They will benefit much from the circumstances, and they have the means to make things happen. They are without Tamim Iqbal, their regular skipper, and one can only imagine how deadly they would be with him back. Their fastest bowler, Taskin Ahmed, is also absent.
