Preview:

India had a horror start to their first match in the Super 12 stage against arch-rivals Pakistan, where Indians were handed a 10-wicket defeat. In this match, apart from Skipper Virat Kohli, none of the other batters were able to stand their crease and face the Pakistani bowlers. A lot of hopes ride on the batting gems like KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav. It'd be interesting to see if Ishan Kishan who's in red hot form gets a place in the playing XI or not.

Indian bowling attack needs to strike back after they were unable to take a single wicket against Pakistan. Experienced bowlers like Mohammad Shami & Jasprit Bumrah may come out with all guns blazing in this all important match. Bhuvneshwar Kumar who has been out of touch for a long time may be replaced by all-rounder Shardul Thakur. In the spin department, it's still unclear who will play with Jadeja, though it's possible Varun Chakravarthy is given a place in the XI to get his rhytm in this T20 World Cup.

New Zealand is also coming in with a defeat against Pakistan in their first match in the Super 12 stage. NZ batters had a good start but weren't able to score big and ended up chipping in with small scores. Although, NZ batting lineup - Martin Guptill, Daryl Mitchell, Kane Williamson, James Neesham, Devon Conway & Glenn Phillips - are capable of smashing bowlers around the park.

New Zealand bowling attack which is led by the dangerous experienced duo - Trent Boult & Tim Southee - didn't look as effective as their potential against Pakistan. However, Boult & Southee, accompanied by Neesham, Santner & Sodhi can trouble Indian batters.

Team Guide

Make various team combination with the help of these information.

Batters

Virat Kohli

Virat Kohli smashed a fine half-century against Pakistan and continued his dream run in the T20 World Cups (10th fifty in 17 innings). The Indian captain has amassed 834 runs at an average of 83.40. Thus, he will be a key pick.

Lokesh Rahul

Lokesh Rahul had a poor showing against Pakistan but he remains an excellent pick here on the back of some excellent showings in the IPL where he scored 626 runs at an average of 62.60. He also scored 90 runs in the two warm up matches.

Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma should forget what has happened in the previous game against Pakistan. There is no doubt he is a world-class batter and he will have a point to prove in this match against Kiwis.

Kane Williamson

Kane Williamson knows how to pace his innings. He has got a solid technique and will be expecting a good game against India. He got out in an unfortunate manner against Pakistan when he was batting on 25 runs.

Martin Guptill

Martin Guptill did not have the best of outings against Pakistan, scoring just 17 runs but he remains a good option here. He had scored 71 runs in 2 warm up matches and averages 32.13 in T20I's.

Suryakumar Yadav

Suryakumar Yadav plays with a positive mindset and he started well against Pakistan, but got out after scoring 11 runs from 8 balls.

Glenn Phillips

Philips is a useful pick for this match because he is contributed with both bat & bowl, he is very useful on this wicket itself as they get a lot of spin bowling. also a good batsman.

Hardik Pandya

Will Hardik bowl in this match?Maybe, he will be seen bowling in this match, he has been seen practicing bowling in the last practice session, if this happens then it is very good for India.

All-Rounders

Daryl Mitchell

Daryl Mitchell was the joint leading scorer for NZ against Pakistan with 27 runs at a strike rate of 135. He is also handy with the ball and is a solid budget pick at 8 credits.

Ravindra jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja managed to score 13 runs, but went wicketless in the last game against Pakistan. He has the potential to turn the game at any point. Jadeja is a brilliant fielder and can save runs for his side as well.

Jimmy Neesham

Jimmy Neesham can hit the ball a long distance, and moreover, his role with the ball will be important for the Kiwis in the middle overs.

Mitchell Santner

Mitchell Santner is a key player for New Zealand for his all-around abilities but particularly for bowling in the early overs.

Bowlers

Varun Chakravarthy

Playing in his first T20 World Cup match, didn’t have the best of the games against the opening duo of Mohammad Rizwan and Babar Azam. He likes to keep things simple and is expected to deliver well against New Zealand.

Trent Boult

Trent Boult could well be the one to watch out for. The New Zealand left-arm fast bowler can get the ball to move around and may be a threat to the Indian top-order. He took 1/29 against Pakistan and will want to build on that start.

Jasprit Bumrah

Jasprit Bumrah struggled against Pakistan like the rest of the Indian bowling attack but he is still an excellent pick here. He had picked up 6 wickets in 4 T20's prior to the last game.

Mohammed Shami

Mohammed Shami had a rough outing in the opener, but he did pick up 3 wickets in his only warm up game against England. He had also picked up 11 wickets in his last 7 IPL games and costs just 8.5 credits for the team here.

Adam Milne

Adam Milne is expected to feature here and he is a good budget option at 8.5 credits. He has picked up 28 wickets in T20I's at an economy of 7.69 and a strike rate of 16.6 in T20I's.

Ish Sodhi

Ish Sodhi bowled a very good spell against Pakistan and returned with 2/28. He has been in superb form with the ball and has taken 19 wickets in eight T20Is in 2021. Moreover, he has picked up 17 wickets in 12 T20Is against India.

Bhuvneshwar kumar

Bhuvneshwar kumarare not in the form. If the wicket helps a little bit, he can put any batting order in trouble on his day.
