The pitch at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium is balanced surface with a good amount of assistance for batters and bowlers, you can also expect some seam movement and more bounce and spinners get good purchase due to its slow nature as very rarely do the scores touch 160-170 at this venue. Preview :
India and Pakistan will play the second match of the Asia Cup 2022 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium, Dubai. Both the teams are placed in Group A along with Hong Kong. In the Asia Cup, India and Pakistan faced each other 15 times. Out of which, India have won 8 while Pakistan have won 5 matches. Pakistan last defeated India during the 2014 edition of the tournament and have lost the last 3 matches. India have won the tournament on six occasions and are the defending champion. Pakistan have managed to clinch the Asia Cup twice since its inception in 1984.
India took the loss and the failure to qualify for the semi-final in the T20 World Cup 2021 quite seriously. Since then, the team has completely changed its approach and is now a team willing to take more risks, play more attacking cricket, and adopt modern T20 strategies. You can expect the Indian batters to go hard from the start. This could allow for an opportunity to bet on India to score more runs in the powerplay. A few questions remain around the playing eleven for India. Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul, and Virat Kohli seem set to play as the top-3 with SKY at number four all but certain. If you assume that Hardik Pandya is also a certainty in the playing eleven and Ravindra Jadeja will take the number 7 slot, then there is room for just one out of Dinesh Karthik or Rishab Pant. The only way to ensure both of them make the final eleven is to play Hardik as the fifth bowler. That would push Jadeja to 8 and give India some much-needed depth as well. Yuzvendra Chahal, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, and Arshdeep Singh are the bowlers that we see making the playing eleven for the first match.
Pakistan suffered a massive blow to its chances when Shaheen Afridi was ruled out of the Asia Cup. Afridi was the one that tore through the Indian batting lineup when they played in the World Cup. Not having him will make the bowling a bit weaker, although, Pakistan still has a number of superb options. Unlike in previous years, though, Pakistan's batting is perhaps its stronger strength heading into this contest. Babar Azam is the number one all-format batter in the world and we believe it is just a matter of time before the rankings reflect that. He is brilliant while chasing, remarkably consistent, and is the backbone of the Pakistani batting lineup. The only criticism of his can be a bit of a strike-rate issue while batting first. Babar Azam is well supported by Mohammad Rizwan and Fakhar Zaman at the top of the order. These three batters have scored almost 2/3rd of the runs for Pakistan since the previous World Cup. Pakistan does not often lose early wickets and one of its top-3 gets runs more often than not.

Overall he's made 2686 runs, with 1 century & 26 half-centuries in 74 matches. Maintaining his evergreen form in shortest form the game he's scoring with the average of 45.52. Such innings will be expected in this match as well. No doubt he will be a default captain choice for this match.
Virat Kohli :
Virat Kohli is the all-time great batter, but nothing is presently working in Virat Kohli's favour, but the positive thing is that he's scored 377 runs at an fabulous average of 77.75 against the Pakistan. Khushdil Shah :
Khushdil Shah is an utility player, he's a proper allrounder who can able to contribute to with both bat & ball. He's batted in the middle order and also bowled 1-2 overs in crucial occasions. Khushdil scored 188 runs at an average of 23.50 in T20Is. Will be a solid option for grand if Pakistan's top order collapse earlier.
Asif Ali :
Asif Ali is an attacking batter who can smash the ball very well. But he's not in his best from couple of times, he's out on single digit fourth times in last five innings. However he's a game changer, able to change the Scenario of the game within a few balls. He's scored just 435 runs in the 39 matches so far. Looking his current form, it would be better to avoid him in H2H or small leagues, but will be the best option for a grand league.
All-rounder :
Hardik Pandya :
Hardik Pandya is an experienced campaigner who has been effective in both the departments in this format for India, he has notched up 834 runs and hunted 50 wickets with the ball in this format. He's making a spectacular comeback in the again West indies since from almost one year, he took three wicket for only 17 runs in his spell but could not do much with the bat, was scored only 28 runs. Mohammad Nawaz :
Mohammad Nawaz has been impressive with his ability to contribute in both departments. However, he has not performed well in international circuit. He has played 30 T20Is matches and scored just 123 runs & picked up 25 wickets so far. Good pick.
