The Belfast wicket is expected to be favorable for both batting and bowling. However, the batters have a better chance of capitalizing on the surface once they are well set in the middle and a run fest looks pretty much on the cards. The winners of the toss should bat first.

Preview :

The 5th and finel T20I match between Ireland and Afghanistan will be played on 17th August at the Civil Service Cricket Club. After an amazing 27-run win over Ireland in the fourth game of the five-match series, Afghanistan will try to explode in the final match to clinch the series. Whereas, the home team Ireland will try to get back the momentum which they had in the first-two matches.

Ireland would be disappointed at not winning at least one out of its previous two matches. It was in a winning position in both matches but could not get the job done. In a sense, the shortened match last time around played to the strengths of Afghanistan but the fact that Ireland still fought hard is encouraging.

The best batters for Ireland so far have been George Dockrell (134 runs), Andrew Balbirnie (113 runs), and Lorcan Tucker (112 runs). Paul Stirling has scored just 55 runs at a strike rate of 105.76 and that is a massive disappointment.

Ireland's batting has improved and has depth with Tector also yet to show his best. Three out of the top-4 run-getters in the series are from Ireland and that is a positive sign also.

Afghanistan has improved its batting effort from what we saw in the first two matches but there is still a long way to go. Rahmanullah Gurbaz showed some signs of form but it has been Najibullah Zadran that has led the way. He has hit 9 sixes so far, the most for any player on either side and has scored 115 runs at a strike rate of nearly 200.

If he gets out early then Afghanistan could struggle. Hashmatullah Shahidi, Rashid Khan, and Usman Ghani have all bailed Afghanistan out of trouble but that is not going to happen every time.

We still think this Afghanistan batting lineup is very vulnerable.

The bowling attack for Afghanistan is a lot better balanced. Naveen ul Haq has picked up 7 wickets, the most for any bowler in this series, and is well supported by Mujeeb ur Rahman, Mohammad Nabi, and Fareed Ahmed.
