Preview :
After sealing the T20I series by winning the second encounter, the visitors, New Zealand will be looking to complete a whitewash against hosts Ireland in the third and final T20I match, to be played on July 22. Ireland, on the other hand, will want to put on a competitive show as well.
The Kiwis did fine in the power play but wickets started crumbling after that. In the end, New Zealand managed to put up 179 runs with a loss of four wickets against the Ireland cricket team. However, the hosts had a terrible start as they kept losing wickets one after the other. Ireland were all out for 91 runs and New Zealand won the second T20 against Ireland by 88 runs.
Ireland will be disappointed with the outcomes in the first two T20Is. They were fabulous in the ODIs but could not replicate their performances in the shortest format. However, that’s not surprising as New Zealand played a formidable bowling attack and Ireland batters had no answers to it.
Ireland will hope that the batters can come good in the final game and end the series on a high. They have the batters who can score against quality bowling attack. New Zealand, on the other hand, would like to keep the winning momentum going. However, they may rest a few players to test their bench strength.
