Pitch Report :

The Castle Avenue in Dublin, also known as the Clontarf Cricket Club Ground, generally provides considerable assistance to fast bowlers, especially with the new-ball. Seamers from both sides will enjoy bowling here, as they will get a good amount of movement. Adding to that, the overcast conditions will also work in their favour, and there will be extra seam off the pitch. The wicket should be ideal for winning the toss and bowling, as chasing will be easier at this venue, as the wicket has dried out in the second half of the game.

The average first innings score is here 138 runs.

Weather Report :

The temperature is expected to hover around 12°C on the Friday with 89% humidity and 5 km/hr wind speed. There are 10% chance of the rain during the match.

Probable XI :

Ireland :

Andy Balbirnie, Paul Stirling (c), Lorcan Tucker (wk), Harry Tector, Curtis Campher, George Dockrell, Gareth Delany, Mark Adair, Barry McCarthy, Craig Young and Ben White.

Pakistan :

Babar Azam (c), Saim Ayub, Mohammad Rizwan (wk), Fakhar Zaman / Usman Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, Shadab Khan, Imad Wasim, Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, Haris Rauf and Abrar Ahmed.

Preview :

Pakistan are set to play Ireland in a three match T20I series as a chance to get themselves ready for the T20I World Cup in June. Both these sides are also set to face each other during the mega event as they are in the same Group which also includes India.

The Ireland cricket team recently lost their three-match T20I series to Afghanistan in UAE by a 1-2 margin. Chasing 158 for a win in the series-decider, Paul Stirling and co. managed to tally just 98 to fall 59 runs short of their target.

Earlier this week, the Ireland Cricket Board unveiled their 15-player squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2024 in West Indies. Several members lined up for the tournament are also included in Ireland’s T20I challenge for Pakistan as part of their pre-T20 World Cup preparations. Andy Balbirnie and captain Paul Stirling will hold key to Ireland’s chances against Pakistan owing to their seniority. Both cricketers have played over 100 T20I matches each, and will start out as their most experienced batters. All-rounder Mark Adair and wicketkeeper Lorcan Tucker also hold key experience, alongside in-form youngster Curtis Campher.

The Pakistan cricket team, under the leadership of Babar Azam, levelled their five-match home T20I series against New Zealand last month. Notably, Babar was re-appointed as team captain after Shaheen Afridi’s short tenure as leader coped a 1-4 hammering in New Zealand earlier this year.

Captain Babar Azam and star batter Fakhar Zaman plundered the most runs for their team against New Zealand. Fast bowler Shaheen Afridi, meanwhile, snared eight wickets from just four innings and delivered timely breakthroughs for Pakistan throughout the series.

Interestingly, pacer Hasan Ali was called back into the national setup for the series against Ireland and England, and his presence will be expected the bolster Pakistan’s bowling attack. Haris Rauf and Azam Khan, who missed the series against New Zealand, are also included in Pakistan’s squad for Ireland T20Is.

Team Guide

Makes various team combinations with the help of these information.

Mohammad Rizwan :

Mohammad Rizwan has for long been one of the most consistent players for his side in the T20 format. The 32-year-old will look to gear up for the T20 world cup during the three match series against Ireland. He has played 93 T20Is so far and scored 3048 runs, Avg - 49.16. He has also hit 26 fifties and a hundred in this format of the game. Safest c/vc pick.

Babar Azam :

Babar Azam is the one of the most consistent T20 batters in the world at the moment who's scored 3823 runs at an average of 41.11 in 114 matches which includes 34 half-centuries and three centuries. Babar Azam will want to get into groove for the T20 World Cup during the series against Ireland. The 29-year-old has been in decent form with the bat in recent times as seen during the series against the New Zealand side. Default c/vc pick.

Paul Stirling :

Paul Stirling is an attacking top order batter who's looking in good form during Ireland Provincial T20 recently. He is one of a few Irish players to attract the attention of T20 franchises around the world. Pakistan will need to target him early, as Stirling can take the game away from a side if he stays deep into the innings. Paul Stirling has an excellent T20 strike rate of 141.37 coming into this series. Hit or miss type player.

Andrew Balbirnie :

Andrew Balbirnie has played 101 T20I matches in which he has scored 2170 runs at a strike rate of 124.49. He has vast experience of T20 format having played more than 150 matches with 3500+ runs. Punt pick.

Harry Tector :

Harry Tector is the one of the bets batter in Irish batting lineup. The 24-year-old has all the class and talent in the world to take the attack to any bowling unit on his day. He's scored 1243 runs at an average of 23.9 in 70 T20I matches so far. He will be a key batter for IRE in the upcoming T20 World Cup as well. This year in March, he smashed a century in an ODI and a half century in a T20 against Afghanistan. Must have pick.

Shadab Khan :

Shadab Khan is having a good season so far. He led his team Islamabad United to the PSL title win and finished as the Player of the Tournament for scoring 305 runs and picking 14 wickets in 12 matches. PAK will have high hopes from going into the T20 World Cup 2024. Must have pick.

Curtis Campher :

Curtis Campher is a quality all-rounder who has always performed brilliantly for Ireland. He has played 47 T20I matches so far, scoring 741 runs at an average of 22.45, including three half-centuries, and has also taken 27 wickets with bowling. Must have pick.

Shaheen Afridi :

Shaheen Shah Afridi is one of the most feared bowlers in the world. Known for his pace and swing. He hasn't had a great 2024 so far with the ball or off the field. The 23-year-old saw his captaincy being taken away and his form dip during the PSL 2024 season. His quality with the ball remains the same. He has taken 81 wickets in 61 T20Is at 16.3 strike rate. One of the best captaincy choice for grand league.

Mark Adair :

Mark Adair is leading pacer from Irish side who has impressive stats. In 77 T20Is, Adair has taken 107 wickets at an average of 19.61. In Ireland, he has picked 35 wickets at a strike rate of just 12.9. Must have pick.

Barry McCarthy :

Barry McCarthy is a fresh talent from the country. He was incredible in the Inter Pro T20 and picked wickets in almost every game. He will be coming in hot in the next game. Punt pick.
