Preview :
Karachi Kings (KAR) will face Peshawar Zalmi (PES) in the second game of the Pakistan Super League 2023 on Tuesday (February 14) at the National Stadium in Karachi. The Kings won just a single game last season and finished in the last place in the points table. However, a lot has changed in the squad since that time. Babar Azam, the skipper of the side, has moved to Peshawar Zalmi. Shoaib Malik recently had a great outing in the Bangladesh Premier League and has also switched sides. Joe Clarke, the wicketkeeper-batter, has been replaced by Matthew Wade. Imad Wasim will be captaining the side this season.
Zalmi won six out of ten games last season and finished in third place. A loss in the first eliminator against Islamabad United ended Zalmi’s campaign the previous year. They are the only side in the league which has qualified for the playoffs each year. Babar has been named the skipper and will replace Wahab Riaz. The batting unit will miss some key players this season, and a lot will depend on Babar’s performance.
Team Guide
Makes various team combinations with the help of these information.
Matthew Wade :
Matthew Wade is the attacking Australian wicketkeeper batter is known to counter-attack strong bowling attacks. His performance on top of the batting order will hold a key in the Kings setting or chasing a total in PSL 2023. Wade holds brilliant batting potential and experience in this format of the game with a total of 584 runs at a strike rate of 196.63 in 18 T20 matches. Good pick.
Mohammad Haris :
Mohammad Haris has knocked 166 runs in his last 5 games for the Zalmi-unit in last season, at an average of 33 runs per innings. He has a PSL strike rate of 186.52 and has gone on to represent Pakistan in white-ball cricket. Given his explosive batting ability, will be a great punt pick.
Babar Azam :
Babar Azam is the World No. 3 ranked T20 Batsman, and Pakistan’s captain will be looking to get off the best possible start with his new franchise. He scored 343 runs in 10 matches last season, with a couple of fifties to his name as well. With Babar keen to get a big one against his former team, will be able to make use of this particular pitch the most, Azam will have the chance to score a big total. Default c/vc pick.
James Vince :
James Vince comes into the PSL on the back of a fine ILT20 campaign, scoring 439 runs in 11 matches. He averaged 48.78 and also led the Giants to the ILT20 trophy. With Vince likely to bat at the top of the order for Karachi, he is a viable choice as captain or vice-captain of your fantacy team.

Shoaib Malik was one of the top performers in PSL 2022, scoring 401 runs in 11 matches and also looking in solid touch with the bat in BPL. He averaged 44.56, doing well in the top order for Peshawar Zalmi. Although Malik has shifted bases from Peshawar to Karachi ahead of PSL 2023, his experience makes him a must have pick.
Imad Wasim :
Imad Wasim has scored 141 runs in 9 games for the Kings. Imad Wasim had a brilliant campaign with the Sylhet Strikers in BPL 2023, picking up 12 wickets in 11 matches. He had an economy rate of just 5.12 in BPL and also chipped in with handy runs in the lower order. Default c/vc pick.
James Fuller :
James Fuller can keep the scoreboard moving in the middle order as he currently has 98 runs at a strike rate of 134.25 along with 7 wickets in the last 7 matches which should keep him confident for this game. Punt pick.
Jimmy Neesham :

Mir Hamza :
Mir Hamza, on the other hand, has picked up 8 wickets for the side in his last 4 games, and we expect him to be the leading wicket-taker for KK in this game. Punt pick.
Mohammad Amir :
Mohammad Amir Although there is no help to offer at National Stadium for the pacers, this left-arm pacer will be expected to provide early breakthroughs to his side. Must have pick.
Imran Tahir :
Imran Tahir- With a wealth of T20 experience under his belt, this veteran right-arm legbreaker does have the traits to take the most wickets using his variation. Good pick.
