Preview :

Lahore Qalandars (LAH) will be facing Peshawar Zalmi (PES) in the 15th match of the Pakistan Super League 2023 at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on February 26. Lahore Qalandars registered a big 63-run win against Quetta Gladiators in their last game. Shai Hope top-scored with 47 off 32 to help the Qalandars scored 198/6 while batting first and then Shaheen Afridi and David Wiese took three wickets each to restrict the Gladiators to just 135/8.

Peshawar Zalmi were beaten by Islamabad United by six wickets in their last game and are now placed in the fourth position with four points from their opening four games. Babar Azam smashed 75* off 58 to post a 156/8 total while batting first but the bowlers struggled as the United easily chased the target in just 14.5 overs.

This is a contest between two evenly poised sides. Qalandars have not got any of their strategies wrong. Their top 3 have been firing consistently and getting their team of to great starts. The bowling has been in control specially during the middle and death overs. Barring their one defeat which came against Karachi Kings by a heavy margin, Qalandars have by far looked like a more balanced side.

On the other hand, Zalmi had their ups and downs this year’s PSL edition. They won the opening game with a narrow margin and suffered a heavy defeat against the top ranked Multan Sultans. However, they made a recovery after their second game and registered a confident looking victory against Quetta. But again, in their 4th game they lost badly to United pushing them further down the points table.

Mohammad Haris does not have defensive grain in his bat. He's smashed 40 off just 21 against Islamabad United in the last game. He has scored 108 runs at an average of 27 and a strike rate of 186.2. He gets his team off to blazing starts and that makes him the best wicketkeeper pick for the match.

Shai Hope :

Shai Hope is an excellent wicketkeeper-batter top-scored 47 off 32 against the Gladiators in the last game. He has scored 67 runs in three innings and will be a best c/vc pick for grand league.

Babar Azam :

Babar Azam is an amazing batter, he's continues his evergreen form and has scored two 60 plus scores in just 4 games. The skipper has been piling up the runs at a very healthy strike rate and is our strong choice for Zalmi’s highest run scorer on Sunday. Safest c/vc pick.

Fakhar Zaman :

Fakhar Zaman played some useful cameos at the top of the order with a very heathy strike. He was adjudged Man of The Match for his knock of 66(42) which came against Multan Sultans in their opening game. He is our top tip for Qalandar’s highest run scorer against Zalmi. Good pick.

Mirza Baig :

Mirza Baig is the young has a bright future ahead of himself. Though, he is yet to make his debut for Pakistan, the youngster has already left a positive mark in this year’s PSL edition. He has amassed a total of 108 runs in just 3 games in his maiden PSL season which includes a top score of 45. Punt pick.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore :

Tom Kohler-Cadmore is the 28-year-old has plenty of franchise cricket experience under his belt. He is the second highest scorer for Zalmi this season and has amassed 105 runs in just 4 innings at a very healthy average of 26.25. He shinned with the bat with a quick fire 92(50) in their opening game against Karachi Kings which came in a winning cause. Punt pick.

Rovman Powell is the star West Indies batting all-rounder was bowled out on a duck against Islamabad United in the last match but has been in good form lately with 89 runs from his last four T20 innings. Good pick.

Jimmy Neesham :

Jimmy Neesham is very impressive so far he's scored 72 Runs and also gets 4 Wickets in four matches. The Kiwi all-rounder has been in decent form. Neesham can impact the match with both the bat and the ball. This makes him the best all-rounder pick for the match.

Rashid Khan :

Rashid Khan is the world no.1 T20I bowler took Jason Roy's wicket and conceded just 17 runs from a four-over spell against the Gladiators in the last game. Rashid has taken seven wickets from his last five overall innings and he's a must have pick.

Shaheen Shah Afridi :

Shaheen Shah Afridi has been in outstanding form with the ball and has registered his best bowling figures of 3/22 in the ongoing PSL season which came in a winning cause. He is well worth backing as Qalandar’s top wicket-taker ahead of the fixture. Good pick.

Usman Qadir :

Usman Qadir has been the pick of the bowlers for Zalmi. He has picked up 3 wickets in his 3 games played so far and is expected to prosper well as the tournament progresses. He is our pick for Zalmi’s top wicket-taker in this game.

Salman Irshad :

Salman Irshad has proven his worth with ball in this year’s PSL tournament. At a time where the premium bowlers are struggling to get it right, Irshad has bowled with maturity. Irshad has picked up 3 wickets at an economy of under 20 in this year’s PSL edition and has looked by far the most controlled bowler for Zalmi. Punt pick.
