Preview :

Lucknow Super Giants will be squaring off against Kolkata Knight Riders for the first time in the fifty-third match of this season of the Tata IPL.
Lucknow Super Giants is currently placed at the second position on the points table of this season of the Tata IPL whereas Kolkata Knight Riders are currently placed at the eighth spot on the points table.

KKR Coming off a win in their last match, Kolkata Knight Riders will be disappointed to be in the position they are in at the moment. At one point in the competition, they were reigning supreme in the top-half of the points table and look well set to progress to the playoffs. However, a losing streak of five matches saw them drop down to the eight spot, which is where they are currently placed.
From a total of 10 matches played, the Knight Riders have won four and lost six. They would now need to win all of their remaining four matches to stand a chance to get to the next round. Alongside that, they would also have to work on their net run rate, which currently stands at 0.060.
On paper, Kolkata Knight Riders have a decent side but the problem at the top of the order has hurt them big time. They have tried the most number of opening pairs and are still searching for a sustainable one. On the bowling front, however, they are looking more or less settled and that was also the reason for their much-needed win in the last match.

LKN not many would have imagined the two new teams to be flying high in the points table before the ongoing edition of IPL commenced. Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans have both been brilliant so far and while the Titans have almost cemented their place in the playoffs, the Super Giants are not too far off. Another win here will push them to a safe spot and that is exactly what they will be striving for here in this upcoming match.
From a total of 10 matches played, Lucknow Super Giants have won 7, totalling to 14 points. They have an excellent net run-rate of 0.397, which is second-best among all sides in the competition. Even though it is unlikely to matter in the quest to qualify for the playoffs, it might well be the deciding factor in determining the top two and Lucknow Super Giants will be wary of that.

Team Guide

Make various team combinations with the help of these information.

Wicket keepers :

KL Rahul :

KL Rahul is in exceptional form at the moment. He is the second highest run-scorer of the tournament. Rahul is one of the more consistent players in the IPL, He has played a couple of fine knocks and scored 451 runs in 10 games at an average of 56.38. He scored 77 runs in the last game. He has smashed 2 centuries and 2 half-centuries in the tournament already and will be eager to keep the run going. Rahul will be the default captaincy choice in this match.

Quinton de Kock :

Quinton de Kock is a quality top order Batter who can able to play according to match situations. He's more effective in Powerplay overs & should get some quick runs early on. He has scored 294 runs in 10 matches at an average of 29.40 and a strike rate of 134.24 including 2 half-centuries. He would be expected to provide a decent start to the team along with skipper KL Rahul. Another solid option in wk section.

Sam Billings:

Sam Billings will open the innings and can fetch a lot of points for your fantasy team. He is a good player and can score big especially in the first six overs. He has played 6 matches this season, scoring 99 runs in six matches with an average of 20. He is the best differential punt pick for this match. Didn't play last game.

Baba Indrajith :

Baba Indrajith is a very good young talented wicketkeeper batsman. He scored 15 runs in the last match, has played two in this season in which 21 runs have been scored. Can kkr give them a chance to open instead of Finch? If he comes to open, then useful in that condition.

Batters :

Shreyas Iyer :

Shreyas Iyer is in top form with the bat and he is the leasing run scorer for KKR in IPL 2022 with 324 runs in 10 matches at an average of 36 and a strike rate of 133.33. After struggling at the start of this tournament, with no thirty-plus score in the first 4 matches, he's bounce back in form strongly as in the recent 6 matches his scores read 34, 42, 12, 85, 28 & 54. Shreyas Iyer has been very consistent in this edition and will look to lead from the front. He will be a top captaincy option.

Deepak Hooda :

Deepak Hooda seems to be in good touch with the bat. He has floated around the batting order but He got an opportunity to bat at number 3 and capitalizing on that opportunity with both hands, he played a brilliant innings of 52 runs in 34 balls in last match. He has scored 279 runs while striking at 131.60 this season. Hooda is likely to solve the middle-order crisis for LSG added 95 runs for the second wicket along with Lokesh Rahul. Along with batting well, spin bowling can also be done if needed. Would be a great option for this match.

Nitish Rana :

Nitish Rana looking in fine touch with bat, payed a magnificent match winning knock (48 of 37) in lats match against Rajasthan, This is his third 40+ score in the last 5 innings. Overall, he has scored 248 runs at an average of 27.56 and strike-rate of 140.90. He will be a great budget punt option.

Aaron Finch:

Aaron Finch has played only 4 matches for KKR and has scored a half-century. Finch smashed 58 off 28 balls against RR. After that he Scored only 7 runs in two matches, 3 against Delhi and only four against Rajasthan. He struggles against fast bowlers in inswing bowling. Risky pick.

Rinku Singh:

RInku Singh has been in excellent form and has scored runs in all the games that he has played this season. He has played 3 matches in the season and has done exceptionally well in all the three matches. The scores of all three matches are as follows- 42*, 23 & 35. In the last match against Rajasthan, he scored 42 runs in just 23 balls to help his team win the match. Will be the best differential pick for this game.

Marcus Stoinis:

Marcus Stoinis started the season by scoring 38 runs in just 17 balls against Rajasthan. After that, he could not do anything special in the next five matches. Was out on a golden duck against Mumbai and could only score 1 run against Punjab and scored just 17 in the last match Along with batting, he can also bowl well. He took 1 wicket against Mumbai. Good pick.

Ayush Badoni :

Ayush Badoni is utility plyer for lucknow. Didn't get a chance for bat in last game. He has played nine matches so far this season in which he has scored 138 runs at an average of 23 as well as bowls part time when needed, has also taken 1 wicket against Mumbai. Punt pick.

Venkatesh lyer:

Venkatesh lyer is a quality batting allrounder, But so far this season has been no less than a nightmare for them. So far this season, he has played 9 matches in which he has scored 132 runs and has been successful in hitting only one half century. Can bounce back strongly in this match, punt pick. Didn't play last game.

All-rounders :

Andre Russell :

Andre Russell is the best all-rounder in the T20 format. He will bowl one or two overs in the death and we all know what he can do with the bat. Russell has scored 227 runs while striking at 175.96 and has picked up 10 wickets with the ball too. Also, Russell in his 3 matches at this venue (Pune) has scored 94 runs (SR of 181) and taken 2 wickets. He is the only player in this edition of the league who has scored over 200 runs and has picked 10 or more wickets. But he has been dismissed for a duck twice in the last 4 matches. However, he is the match winner. No dough he's best captain choice for this match.

Jason Holder :

Jason Holder is one of the best allrounder in the world cricket at the moment. He has picked up 9 wickets in 8 matches at an economy of 8.68 and contributes with the bat as well. Haven't been able to take any wickets from the last two matches. But he can always be a x - factor specially in the death. Will be top captain pick for grand league.

Sunil Narine :

Sunil Narine is a star all-rounder, he is a outstanding specialy T20 farmet. He has been superb with the ball. Unfortunately not able to pick any wickets in last game. The mystery spinner has picked 7 wickets in 10 matches for KKR at an average of 30.00 but has not been able to preformed well with the bat. He has managed to reach a double-digit score only once. Can be decent yet consistent with his contributions as he was able to find 1 wicket in the last match with an economy rate of 4.75. Must have pick.

Krunal Pandya :

Krunal Pandya has contributed nicely with both bat and ball. The left-handed All-rounder has scored a total of 128 runs and taken 9 wickets in his 10 matches in this season.
Krunal Pandya has picked 5 wickets in the last 3 matches and has bowled at a decent economy. Moreover, he can be a safe pick among all-rounders.

Anukul Sudhakar Roy :

Anukul Sudhakar Roy made his IPL debut for KKR in the last game against Rajasthan Royals. Anukul opened the bowling for KKR, bowled very well & picked a wicket in 4 overs while giving away just 28 runs. Punt pick.

Bowlers :

Tim Southee :

Tim Southee has done well his job with the ball for KKR in the limited opportunities he has got so far. He has taken ten wickets in just five matches. In the last match, where all the bowlers of KKR were seen struggling, they took 2 wickets while bowling well. He has taken a total of 16 wickets in his last 7 T20 matches with being wicketless only once, Tim Southee will be an terrific c/vc option from bowling section.

Umesh Yadav :

Umesh Yadav has been excellent with the ball for KKR. He is the leading wicket taker for Kolkata with 15 wickets in 10 matches at an average of 19.06, an economy of 7.15, He has taken 5 wickets in the last 3 matches. Umesh Yadav has picked wickets in almost all the games with the new ball upfront. Thus, he can be backed as vice-captain.

Dushmantha Chameera :

Dushmantha Chameera is leading Sri Lankan pacer, he has produced a couple of superb performances in the last few matches. In the last match against Delhi, he took a wicket by spending 44 runs in his spell. Overall he has picked up 8 wickets in this tournament so far. He comes to open the bowling for Lucknow and specializes in taking wickets in the Powerplay. Good pick.

Mohsin Khan :

Mohsin Khan has been impressive with the ball this season so far. He has taken 8 wickets in 4 matches at an average of 10.62, an economy of 6.07, and a strike rate of 10.5. He has taken 7 wickets in the last two matches. Bowling brilliantly against Delhi in the last match, he took four wickets for only 16 runs in his spell. In his earlier match, he took three wickets for 24 runs against Punjab. Will be the best bowler for this match.

Ravi Bishnoi :

Ravi Bishnoi is a very good spin bowler. This season has not been anything special for him so far, taking only 8 wickets in 10 matches. Last season was very good for Inn where he took 12 wickets in 9 matches. Picked up 1 Wkt in last lame, before that Slightly expensive against PBKS took only one wicket for 41 runs in his spell. However, he is a wicket taker bowler, surely he's one to watch out for in this clash. Good pick.

Shivam Mavi :

Shivam Mavi done very well from last few matches. While bowling economical in the last four matches, he has taken one wicket each. In the last match too, he took one wicket for 33 runs against Rajasthan. Very good pick.
