Hagley Oval, Christchurch. The pitch at this stadium is good for batting but is one of the slower pitches in New Zealand. Run-scoring is not going to be very easy and that could actually be a good thing for both teams. Pacers have generally enjoyed the conditions, accounting for 60 percent of the wickets. A change of pace will be key, with both teams likely to prefer chasing upon winning the toss.

The average first innings scored here is 165 runs.

Preview :

New Zealand will host Bangladesh in the 3rd T20I of the tri-series on Sunday in Christchurch. Both teams lost their opening game to Pakistan. Pakistan is the third team which is part of the series. Bangladesh lost to Pakistan in the first game of the series while the Men in Green defeated the Black Caps in the 2nd fixture. One of Bangladesh and New Zealand is confirmed to and register its first win of the series. New Zealand have largely dominated Bangladesh at their home and will enter the contest as favourites.
The runners-up of the previous T20 World Cup, New Zealand put up a total of 148 on the board against Pakistan. The score didn't prove to be enough and Pakistan rode on Babar Azam's unbeaten 79 off 53 to scale the chase. Haris Rauf shone with the ball and took a three-for for 28 runs.

Bangladesh, on the other hand, lost to Pakistan while chasing 168. They were restricted to a score of 146 in 20 overs. Shakib al Hasan is likely to make his comeback and lead the team in the fixture.
Bangladesh were in the contest against Pakistan, but their collapse, due mainly to a lack of power in their lineup, saw them fall short. A faster start in the powerplay will certainly help, but dominating this New Zealand attack will be a challenge. Indeed, if the returning Shakib Al Hasan can contribute like the world knows he can, it makes the Tigers a much more formidable outfit.

New Zealand, after a poor tour of Australia, need a win here. Their decision to bat first against Pakistan in the desire to defend didn’t work, as the batting effort and dew saw them fall short of victory. The form of Kane Williamson remains a concern, so a freeflowing knock here is the order of the day, as is New Zealand’s finishing department after a tough outing yesterday.
