Preview :
India and New Zealand will be locking horns for one last time in the 3-match T20I series on Tuesday in Napier. The series currently stands at 1-0 in favor of India, with one game to go.
After an abandoned first game, India made a stellar start to the series by winning the second match by 65 runs. Suryakumar Yadav’s sensational form with the bat (111* off 51) helped India post 191 runs while batting first. The home side was bundled out for a mere 126. Deepak Hooda picked 4 wickets while Chahal and Siraj hunted 2 scalps each.
Another good game of cricket is anticipated here between these two sides on Tuesday. India has gained an unassailable lead in the series and will be hoping to wrap another game in their favor here. On the other hand, New Zealand will be aiming to level the series by winning this one.
India made some surprising changes in the playing eleven for the previous match. They sent two left-handed batters to open the batting inning and this happened after ten years. Ishan Kishan and Rishabh Pant came to open the batting for India. Rishabh Pant could not play well and went back to the pavilion after scoring just six runs. Sanju Samson is also part of the squad of team India and we are expecting that he will get a chance in this match. Ishan Kishan played well and scored 36 runs with the help of five boundaries and one huge six at the strike rate of 116. Suryakumar Yadav is the number one T20 batter in the world and he proved it in the previous match. He completed his fifty on 32 balls and then converted his inning to 111 runs on just 51 balls. He smashed 11 boundaries and seven huge sixes during his inning and remained not out till the 20th over.
New Zealand played well in the previous match but they failed to stop Suryakumar Yadav from scoring runs and that was a key reason why they leaked a lot of runs. Tim Southee was just best with the ball and he also had a hat trick to his name. Remember that they won the toss and decided to field first and leaked a total of 191 runs. Tim Southee was the best bowler but all the other bowlers were expensive and leaked a lot of runs. Tim Southee picked up three wickets in four overs against 34 runs. Lockie Ferguson was the other bowler who had some wickets to his name but he leaked plenty of runs. He picked up two wickets while he was charged with 49 runs in four overs. Ish Sodhi picked one wicket while no other bowler from their side could manage to pick any wicket.
