Preview :

New Zealand will be hosting Pakistan in the second T20I match of the Tri-Series tournament at Hagley Oval in Christchurch on Saturday. New Zealand won their last T20I series against West Indies and also sealed the ODI series. But they lost the ODI series against Australia by 3-0 which hamper their preparation for the upcoming T20 World Cup 2022 tournament.
Pakistan returned to winning ways with a big win against Bangladesh in the first match of this series, after their 3-4 defeat in a seven-match T20I series against England at home. The in-form opener Mohammad Rizwan smashed unbeaten 78 runs off 50 balls to guide Pakistan to a big total of 167/5 while batting first. Then young pacer Mohammad Wasim took three wickets to restrict Bangladesh to just 146/8 to secure a crucial 21-run win.

New Zealand played T20Is against Netherlands, Ireland, West Indies, and Scotland. All the series were devoid of a full-strength squad. But this being their last T20 series before the T20 World Cup, New Zealand have gone with a full-strength squad. Kane Williamson is back leading the side which also sees the return of Guptill, Boult, & Latham.

Pakistan performed well against Bangladesh, but their middle-order woes continued. Yet again Mohammed Rizwan carried the batting on his able shoulders. With only a handful of games to go before the T20 World Cup, Pakistan would like more contributions from the likes of Haider Ali, Asif Ali, Nawaz and Khushdil
