Pitch Report :

The wicket behave a bit slow in the first inning of the previous match after which it started to get a bit better. The spinners could come into the game and start playing more of a role. The dew does not play a big role at this venue although it is not completely absent either.

We think a score of around 170 should be seen as par.

The temperature is expected to hover around 36°C on the Saturday with 55% humidity and 13-15 km/hr wind speed. There are no chances of rain during the game.

Probable XI :

Faf du Plessis (c), Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, Glenn Maxwell, Dinesh Karthik (wk), David Willey, Shahbaz Ahmed, Wanindu Hasaranga, Harshal Patel, Akash Deep, Mohammed Siraj.

MI-

Preview :

The 18th match of the Tata IPL 2022 will see Royal Challengers Bangalore facing off against Mumbai Indians on the 9th of April at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium, Pune.
This game is scheduled to start at 7:30 PM IST

RCB won its previous match against RR thanks to a couple of tremendous performances from Dinesh Karthik and Shahbaz Ahmed. They helped the team recover from 87 for 5 to eventually chase down 170 with almost an over to spare.
RCB's bowling was quite good in that match as David Willey and Harshal Patel bowled very tight lines while Hasaranga asked some tough questions as well. One concern would be the lack of wickets from Mohammad Siraj. He is the seniormost seam bowler in the team but has struggled to get the early breakthroughs.
RCB's batting also looked a bit shaky. Faf du Plessis is the only top-order batter in form as Anuj Rawat, Virat Kohli, David Willey, and Sherfane Rutherford continue to struggle. Dinesh Karthik has been playing the role of a finisher with brilliance but can you really expect to bail the team out every single time?
It will be interesting to see who makes way for Glenn Maxwell in this match. We think Sherfane Rutherford could be the one that misses out but RCB may have a surprise in store.

MI was struck by an absolutely brilliant inning from Pat Cummins in its previous match. There are occasions when the team just has no answers and that was one of those occasions. We think MI would do well to focus on some of the positives from the previous match.
Dewald Brevis looked fit to play at this level as he impressed on his IPL debut and Kieron Pollard seemed to be getting in some kind of form. We thought it was very harsh on Tim David to be dropped just after two innings and expect him to be brought back in place of Daniel Sams.
The obvious choice of replacement is Jayadev Unadkat, another left-arm seamer that has had a lot of success at the ground in Pune in the past.
Rohit Sharma has been out of form and Ishan Kishan is also struggling to get the quick starts. Still, the return of Suryakumar Yadav and the continued brilliance of Tilak Varma give MI the edge.
Tymal Mills and Jasprit Bumrah are dependable in any situation but the same cannot be said of M Ashwin, Basil Thampi, or Daniel Sams (if he plays). The decision to invest in Jofra Archer even when he is not playing this season could prove to be a big problem for MI.

Team Guide

Make various team combinations with the help of information.

Wicket keeper :

Ishan Kishan :

Ishan Kishan is a swashbuckling batsman and can bat in a variety of positions. This season he is opening the batting and has provided real value. He scored 81* in the opening game and backed it up with another half-century (54) in the next game. He had a rare failure in the last game and would be looking to make amends. Populer pick.

Dinesh Karthik :

Dinesh Karthik batted well in the last match by scoring 44 runs from just 23 balls. Dinesh Karthik has not been out in a single match in the season so far. He has scored 90 runs in three matches.
He will be hoping to keep the momentum alive and perform in this game too. Good pick.

Anuj Rawat :

Anuj Rawat has batted in the opening for Bengaluru this season. Where he has scored 47 runs in three matches so far. Played a useful innings of 26 runs in the last match off 25 balls.
It can play good shots from above the fielder in power play. Will be a punt pick for this match.

Batter :

Virat Kohli :

Virat Kohli had a good start in the tournament against Punjab Kings. He scored 41 not-out off 29 deliveries and after this, in the next two matches, he has been able to score only 12 and 5 runs. No doubt he is a great player can play big Innings today, must have pick.

Rohit Sharma :

Rohit Sharma has been a massive disappointment for Mumbai Indians this season with just 54 runs in the IPL thus far. Moreover,
For a long time, no big innings came out of Rohit Sharma's bat, maybe there are very good batsmen who got a big innings in this match. Today is the best Captain Choice for the Dream11 team.

Faf Du Plessis :

Faf du Plessis scored 88 in the opening game and while, he hasn't been as effective in the last game, he could score big runs as he looks to add to his tally of 122. He got a good start in the last match where he scored 29 runs in 20 balls, in this match he will be expected to make a big innings. Default c/vc pick.

Suryakumar Yadav :

Suryakumar Yadav is a consistent performer with the bat who can add lots of runs at the top of the order. He has a wide range of shots and his power-hitting ability makes him a good bet ahead of this game. He has scored 52 runs at a strike rate of 144.44 in the last match.
He will be a big threat in this game.

Tilak Varma :

Tilak Varma is an exciting, young talent and has showcased that in the 3 games thus far. The young left-hander has scored 121 runs so far, and is looking in fine touch. A big knock seems on the cards. He played a brilliant innings of 38 runs in 27 balls against KKR in the last match. Also did the bowling of 1 over, punt pick.

Sherfane Rutherford :

Rutherford has not been able to show anything special so far this season. So far 33 runs have been scored in three matches of this season. There are many attacking batsmen, they can turn matches on their own at any time.

All-rounder :

Wanindu Hasaranga :

Wanindu Hasaranga is an aggressive middle-order batsman, who is more than useful with his bowl as well. He has struck 6 wickets at an economy of 7.66 in 3 matches. Haven't got much chance to bat this season. Wonderful performance with butt bowling, took 4 wickets for 20 runs in 4 overs against Kolkata, who can forget this performance?
is an unquestionable choice for the captaincy.

Glenn Maxwell :

Glenn Maxwell is all set to play his first match of this 2022 edition. The Australian all-rounder had a stellar run in the IPL 2021 where he smashed 513 runs at a strike-rate of 144.10. Hence, he could be a great punt pick.

Kieron Pollard :

The kind of cricket that Pollard is known for, is not looking good this season. In this season so far 47 runs have been scored in 3 matches and against Rajasthan in 4 overs, Bowling took one wicket. Punt pick.

Shahbaz Ahmed :

Shahbaz Ahmed has scored 72 runs in 2 innings at a strike rate of 156.52. He has a top score of 45 against Rajasthan and is also a handy bowler. Whenever I got a chance to bat this season, I have done better than being. Also bowled 2 overs against Kolkata but could not get any wicket.

Dewald Brevis :

Dewald Brevis scored 29 runs at a strike rate of 152.63 on his debut match. This is a very talented batter, he got good starts in the last match and also hit some good shots. He can also do part time bowling. Punt pick.

Daniel Sams :

Daniel Sams had a great BBL season with both bat & bowl, Not looking in good form this season. Has proved to be very expensive in three matches and has taken only one wicket and the batting sign has not been able to show anything amazing.

David Willey :

David Willey has picked up only one wicket in three matches of the new season and scored 18 runs with the bat against KKR.
He has played only six IPL matches so far in which he has taken 3 wickets and has also scored 18 runs in 6 matches with the bat.

Bowler :

Jasprit Bumrah :

Jasprit Bumrah is leading bowler for MI. The right-arm seamer is one of the best death-overs specialists in the IPL and has already bagged 3 wickets in the first 3 games, he will be able to pick wickets in bulk & he's a must have pick & grand league captain pick if MI bowl first.

Harshal Patel :

Harshal Patel is a big wicket-taker and relies on his variations. He has improved heaps and bounds and was the top wicket-taker last season by some distance, where he struck 32 times. He has had a decent start, and has bagged 4 wickets in season so far. Must have pick.

Tymal Mills :

Tymal Mills is a T20 specialist and has done a good job for the Mumbai Indians. He has bowled at his cheeky best and has bagged 6 wickets in the 3 games. Looks like a great job so far this season. The same will be expected in this match as well.

Murugan Ashwin :

Murugan Ashwin is a right-arm leg-break bowler He has struck 4 wickets at an economy of 7.10 in 3 matches and his ability to bowl at any stage during the game made him an indispensable pick for this match.

Akash Deep :

Akash Deep is a key bowler for his team. He did not get any wicket in the last match and also spent 44 runs in his four overs. He has so far taken 4 wickets in 3 matches played this season. He will probably ball with the new ball and on his day can give you 2-3 wickets upfront. Punt pick.

Mohammed Siraj :

Mohammad Siraj has been seen bowling with a very good pace & line this season. Took 3 wickets in three matches so far. Looks in good form. Will prove to be a good pick for this match. Good pick.

Basil Thampi :

Basil Thampi took 3 wickets while bowling brilliantly in the first match of this season, giving 35 runs in 4 overs. After that, in the next two matches, the bowling was not able to get any wicket properly. Good pick.
