Paarl Royals have done a great job so far with three wins from four games and are second in the rankings, while MI Cape Town have won and lost two games each so far and are in third place.

Both these teams had squared off against each other in their last encounter which was played at Newlands in Cape Town where MI Cape Town had won the toss and elected to field. The Royals were off to a blistering start as Roy kept bashing the bowlers. However, after the loss of the first wicket, the scoring rate went down, and then they lost wickets in a heap as well. Buttler and Roy were the only two batters who looked comfortable, while others struggled. By the end of the innings, they could put up a total of 172 runs on the board.
