Preview :
Pakistan and West Indies are set to resume the ODI leg the tour abandoned due to COVID in the December of 2021. Three ODI's being held in Multan would not normally have attracted so much attention but this is a bilateral series that is a part of the ODI Super League. Every match provides points that count towards World Cup Qualification and both these teams need the points.
Pakistan is the overwhelming favorite going into this match and with good reason. Despite the challenges that Pakistan has faced over the years, its cricket team continues to thrive. Babar Azam is widely regarded as the best batsman in ODI cricket right now while Shaheen Afridi is the most exciting new ball bowler going around. Pakistan won its previous series at home against Australia, a much tougher opponent than the West Indies, and has lost just one ODI match out of the previous eight it has played at home. There is a lot of depth in the batting with the likes of Mohammad Rizwan, Khushdil Shah, Shadab Khan, and Iftikhar Ahmed in the lineup but they may not have a lot to do! The bowling attack of the Pakistani team is world-class. Shaheen Afridi, Hasan Ali, and Haris Rauf are likely to be the fast bowlers included in the playing eleven with Shadab Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, and Khushdil Shah combining to bowl the remaining 20 overs.
West Indies has been playing ODI cricket recently but that was in conditions diametrically opposite to what they will encounter now! From the cool climate of the Netherlands, the West Indian team is going to land in the furnace of Multan. Still, cricket under their belt is only going to help them. The West Indian batting is quite decent and can be expected to put up a strong fight. players like Nicholas Pooran, Rovman Powell, and Romario Shepherd will add a lot of depth to the batting lineup.
The challenge for West Indies in the past has been pacing its inning. The ODI format requires batters to play in a more traditional manner, rotating the strike, and looking for the boundaries after getting set. That is not a strength of the West Indies.

Iftikhar Ahmed is a more effective with ball than bat because he's batted very low, Because Pakistan's top order is very strong, the chances of them batting are very less. He has played only 10 matches so far in which he has scored 124 runs and has also taken 8 wickets with bowling. Risky pick.
