Preview :
Pakistan will be take on against the West Indies team in the final fixture of the 3-match ODI series at Multan Cricket Stadium. In the last outing, Pakistan posted 275 on the board on the back of the fifties from Imam Ul Haq and Babar Azam, while Akeal Hosein was the pick of the bowler in the first half. Then, Kyle Mayers and Shamarh Brooks were the notable contributors with 30+ runs. Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Wasim were impressive for the Pakistan team. It will be interesting to see if the home team manages to complete a series whitewash and put a strong claim on the ICC Cricket World Cup Super League points table.
Pakistan batted first in the second ODI and got off to another good start. Imam ul Haq and Babar Azam once again got starts and could have easily made centuries before falling against the run of play. There was a slight collapse after that as Pakistan fell from 184 for 2 to 207 for 6 and eventually did well to reach 275. From a betting point of view, Babar Azam and Imam ul Haq are the most obvious choices. Both of them are in great form and right now, it just does not seem like Babar Azam is capable of getting out cheaply. Would you be surprised if he reeled off another century? No one in the world would be! The only thing here might be if Pakistan decides to change a few things and give some of the other batters a chance but we don't think that is likely to happen. There were just three sixes hit in the entire inning by Pakistan. This entire series has been one where the sixes have been hard to come by. Mohammad Nawaz took full advantage of the turning surface and ended up with four wickets in his ten overs. He just gave away 19 runs and was ably supported by Shadab Khan who also picked up two wickets.
West Indies would have been happy at the manner they contained Pakistan's batting lineup with wickets in the first inning and they would have also have felt there was a real chance to chase down 275. The pick of the bowlers was Akeal Hosein who picked up three wickets. Alzarri Joseph also bowled very well to pick up two wickets. He kept things tight and made sure there were no freebies on offer. The West Indies bowling attack is not the strongest and it has struggled to pick up early wickets. That is something that has really hurt the team. They would also have expected a bit more from Hayden Walsh on a turning wicket but he could not get his lines right. We can see West Indies struggling for wickets in the third ODI as well. West Indian batters showed a lot of promise in the first match and put up a strong total. Even in the second, Shamarh Brooks and Kyle Mayers seemed to have the match in their grasp before they got out and the rest could not cope with the turning deliveries.
