Pretoria Capitals played against Durban’s Super Giants in their last game, where Durban’s Super Giants won the toss and elected to bat. They lost a wicket early in the innings but a stable second-wicket partnership set the tone for them. Although they kept losing wickets at regular intervals but kept scoring regular boundaries too. They posted a strong total of 174 runs on the board in reply to which, the Capitals did not start well. Will Jacks looked good on the crease but was not much assisted by other batters. The game got quite close towards the end but still, the Super Giants managed to clinch the victory by eight runs.
MI Cape Town had squared off against Joburg Super Kings in their last encounter, where the toss was won by Joburg Super Kings and they elected to field. Due to persistent rain, the match was reduced to eight overs a side. In a shorter version of the game, MI batters failed to put up a good total as they looked scratchy. Kieron Pollard looked like the lone batter who was in good swing as he struck 33 and took the team to a total of 80 runs.
