Pitch Report :
The pitch of MCA Stadium allows the batters to amass good runs in the initial overs. There has been a clear effort to leave some extra grass on the surface that has allowed the fast bowlers to get some help from the picth and also for the batsmen to use the pace to play their shots easily. The large boundaries also bring the spinners into play.
Average first inning score is 170 here so far.

Preview :
Punjab Kings will be squaring off against Lucknow Super Giants for the second time in the forty-second match of this season of the Tata IPL.
This is the first time that these two teams are going to be playing against each other in IPL 2022. The IPL betting sites are currently offering shorter odds on the Lucknow Super Giants to win this match, making them the favorites. The difference in odds is not much and as we have seen, no team can be counted out in the IPL.
Punjab Kings made a couple of changes to their team for their match against CSK and they seemed to pay off. Bhanuka Rajapaksa continued to score freely while Rishi Dhawan played a very important role with the ball as well. This means that PBKS is playing with Rajapaksa, Livingstone, and Bairstow in the middle-order, a ferocious batting lineup on paper!
The problem could be that a couple of players are batting out of position and Livingstone himself may not get as much time in the middle as needed. Dhawan top-scored with 88 in the previous match and played quite brilliantly to emphasize the amount of batting talent in this PBKS lineup.
Arshdeep Singh was in the news for his brilliant death bowling and the stats certainly suggest that he has been doing this job successfully for quite a while now. He may be under a bit more pressure now that the focus is on him but for the time being, it looks like PBKS has an excellent death bowling option to turn to.
LSG struggled to get to 168 in the previous match even though KL Rahul scored a century. To be able to defend that total with ease, in the end, should give the lineup a lot of confidence. Krunal Pandya picked up three wickets, Dushmanth Chameera and Jason Hodler were superb at the death, while Ravi Bishnoi was back to his economic best.
LSG's bowling lineup seems to have shaped up quite well now that Dushmanth Chameera is bowling so well and Marcus Stoinis is available in an all-round role as well.
The big issue for LSG may be the fact that it is still very dependent on KL Rahul for its runs. Quinton de Kock and Marcus Stoinis have not really been able to contribute much with the bat leaving the bulk of the work to be done by Rahul. Also, Manish Pandey is in the middle of a terrible run and is just not able to score enough runs or maintain a high enough strike rate to be effective.
Team Guide

Wicket keeper :
Lokesh Rahul :
Lokesh Rahul has been in terrific form in iPL 2022. He scored a brilliant century in the last game against Mumbai. In recent 3 matches he has produced scores of 103*, 30 & 103* which makes him a must have & popular captain pick.
Quinton De Kock :
Quinton de Kock has the potential but lacks the consistency which is absent in the last 2 matches but can be regained considering his previous seasons which should allow him to get on track during this match. He has scored 225 runs in 8 matches at an average of 28.12 and a strike rate of 133.13. He has also scored 2 half centuries. Must have pick.
Jonny Bairstow :
Jonny Bairstow is a very good aggressive batter but this season has not been anything special for him so far. He has scored just 47 runs in five innings in this tournament. However, he is a destructive player and can get those game-changing knocks. Having his day, he has the ability to turn the match on his own at any time. Will he be a great captain choice for GL.
Jitesh Sharma :
Jitesh Sharma bats in the lower middle order and could miss out if the top-order performs well. He did not get a chance to bat in the last match, before that he played a useful innings of 32 runs against Delhi. He has scored 245 runs in 8 matches at an average of 30.62 also with scored 3 half centuries while also picking up 2 wickets from 9.3 overs at an economy of 11.15. He hasn’t performed in the last two games but he is able to make comeback strongly. He will be a great captaincy option as well.
Krunal Pandya :
Krunal Pandya has been looking in excellent form. He is batting at number 4 and is bowling really well. In the last match, he performed the his best of this season and picked 3 wickets against MI. He has taken seven wickets at an economy of 6.78. With the bat, he has got 112 runs while striking at 147.36, in seven matches. He will contribute with both bat and ball could be a utility option.
Rishi Dhawan :
Rishi Dhawan was impressive in the last match as he took 2/39 in the his season’s first match against CSK. He is inform player, he's performed well in the recent Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy, he took 14 wickets and scored 117 runs in just 6 matches. Can contribute with both bat and bowling in today's match. Will be his best pick for today's match.
