Royal Challengers finished in the fourth position last season after winning eight out of 14 games and qualified for the playoffs for the third time in a row. They made some smart moves at the mini-auction, which occurred in December last year. They shelled out INR 1.9 crores for English pacer Reece Topley and INR 3.2 crores for Will Jacks. Jacks has been ruled out of the tournament due to a thigh injury and has been replaced by Michael Bracewell. Last season, RCB faced the Mumbai Indians once and won that game by seven wickets.
