Preview :

The United Arab Emirates take on Scotland as part of the ICC Cricket World Cup League 2 cycle at the Moosa Stadium in Pearland, Texas on Friday. After a tough loss to begin the cricketing season, Scotland bounced back with a good performance against USA. They will be keen on sustaining their form against a resourceful UAE side that has given a good account of themselves over the last year.

UAE has lost both its matches in this tri-series and its third place on the league table is just coming under threat. In both those matches, the UAE batted first and got a score that was a bit under par. It then tried quite hard to defend that total but fall just short on both occasions. The focus is going to be on the batters to do their job better. Chirag Suri and Chundangapoyil Rizwan have been the pick of the batters so far. Aravind has also got a start in both matches but he has failed to convert that into a big one. Rohan Mustafa did not play the previous match against the USA and it will be interesting to see if he finds his place back in the lineup. For a team like UAE whose batting lineup is a bit thin, leaving out Mustafa is a brave move. Ahmed Raza picked up three wickets in the previous match and Akif Raja was quite impressive with the control he offered over the batters but overall, the surface has not been as amenable to the bowlers from the UAE team as expected.

Scotland continues its impressive run in the World Cup League Two and seems well on track for an automatic slot into the World Cup 2023 Qualifiers. Scotland lost its opening match against the USA but has since won everything. It had also been unbeaten for a fair amount of time before that loss. This is probably why the cricket betting sites are favoring Scotland to win this match so heavily. Anyone betting on Scotland would have been pleasantly rewarded so far.
Richie Berrington, Matthew Cross, Kyle Coetzer, and Callum MacLeod form what is easily the strongest top order in this tournament and perhaps among all associate nations. Berrington and Coetzer have already scored one century in this series, Cross has a match-winning inning, and George Munsey has also been reliable whenever he has got the opportunity. If the pitch remains as it has so far, Scotland is going to have the upper hand thanks to its batting strength.
