Preview :
Scotland will host Germany in the third match of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier. This match will be played at the Goldenacre in Edinburg. Seven teams – Austria, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Jersey, and Scotland will go head-to-head in 21 matches over eight days, in the race for two spots in what will be the biggest ICC Men's T20 World Cup ever, in the West Indies and the United States of America (USA) in June 2024.
Scotland will be playing at home conditions and Richie Berrington will captain a strong squad. They recently missed out on the WC Qualification for the 2023 World Cup and will be keen to make up for it. This is a crucial tournament for them and considering the home advantage they are expected to do well. On the other hand, Germany have plenty of players who have been playing European cricket and local tournaments. They have nothing to lose and will be using this oppurtunity to play against a full member side.
Meanwhile, Germany has an excellent T20I record. They have a win-loss record of 30-16 and have won each of their last six games. They beat Belgium 4-0 before downing Austria 2-0. But they will have an uphill task against a strong Scotland side.
