Preview :
Sri Lanka and Australia will face each other in the final fixture of the 3-match bilateral T20I series at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The Australian team has already won the series and will look to complete a whitewash. In the 2nd T20I, the visitors were impressive with their bowling efforts to restrict the opposition to 124 and then chased it down in under 18 overs.
Sri Lanka's batting looks uncomfortable against the short ball barrage that Jhye Richardson put them through. There is also a lack of power in the middle order that prevents them from getting a boost towards the end of the inning. Palikele is a better batting venue and we may see a better total but we doubt it is going to be match-winning. Wanindu Hasaranga dominates the bowling charts for Sri Lanka and will be full of confidence after his performance in the second match. He is once again priced quite attractively for the Top Bowler market. You can also consider him to pick 2+ wickets. Dushmanth Chameera is the other bowler that has a lot of potential but he has disappointed in the series so far.
Australia has barely gone out of second gear and won the first two matches with ease. They rested Starc and brought in Jhye Richardson, who was immediately effective and picked up three wickets as well. They could continue to tinker around with their lineup but we don't think it is going to make much difference. The likes of Josh Hazelwood, Kane Richardson, and Jhye Richardson showed how formidable they can be even on the slow Sri Lankan surfaces. They were not afraid to bounce the ball and force the Sri Lankan batsmen to hit horizontal shots that they were not comfortable with. Having Ashton Agar and Mitchell Marsh also adds a lot of balance to the lineup. Australia's batting has been dominated by the top order, especially the opening pair. David Warner looks to be in prime form and is just continuing from where he finished in the IPL. It was an unfortunate runout that took care of him in the second T20 otherwise he was running away with the game scoring faster than anyone else in the match.
