Pitch Report :
The pitch at MCA stadium has become quite hot and that will affect the pitch as well. So far, Pune has been offering up green surfaces with a nice amount of bounce and pace. The underlying surface is quite spin-friendly, though, and that could come to the fore if the groundsman does not water the surface enough. Chasing sides have struggled here as they’ve won only 3 out of 8 matches. Teams will look to chase but won’t mind batting first either.
Average first innings score at this Vanue is 165-170 runs.
Weather Report :
The temperature is expected to hover around 36°C on the Sunday with 38% humidity and 20 km/hr wind speed. There are no chances of rain during the game.
Probable XI :
CSK -
Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Mitchell Santner, Dwayne Bravo, Dwaine Pretorius, Mukesh Choudhary, Maheesh Theekshana.
SRK -
Abhishek Sharma, Kane Williamson (c), Rahul Tripathi, Aiden Markram, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Shashank Singh, Washington Sundar, Marco Jansen, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Umran Malik, T Natarajan.
Preview :
Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Chennai Super Kings will be rekindled as they take on each other in this next match of IPL 2022. SRH managed to win five consecutive matches and would have thought the sixth one was in the bag as well but Gujarat Titans had other ideas. CSK is languishing second from the bottom and does not seem to have much of a chance to make it to the IPL playoffs this season.
The big news is that MS Dhoni is back as captain for CSK from this match on. Is that going to bring around the change in fortunes that they are looking for.?
SRH has been in brilliant form off late and is really scripting one of the most amazing IPL seasons the franchise has had in a long time. Five wins in its previous six matches prove that their good form is not just fleeting but is here to stay. In fact with 22 to defend off the last over, SRH would have believed it would win the previous match as well.
However, these things happen in T20 cricket and we don't think there is a need for the team to panic. We don't expect any changes in the lineup for this match. The batting has been well served by Abhishek Sharma, Rahul Tripathi, and Aiden Markram with some useful cameos from Pooran, Williamson, and even Washington Sundar.
It was interesting to see Shashank Singh take the IPL by storm as he smashed 25 runs from just six deliveries in his debut match!
CSK is up against a real challenge in this match as it gets ready to face SRH. We think CSK's team does not match up well at all against SRH and could struggle massively. CSK lost by 8 wickets when they met last and things have not improved dramatically for the team since then.
Ruturaj Gaikwad continues to struggle for runs at the top and Robin Uthappa is also going through a quiet patch. That puts a lot of pressure on the likes of Shivam Dube, Ambati Rayadu, and the all-rounders. Mitch Santner, Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, and Dwayne Pretorius can all bat but they are not what you would call proven match-winners in this format of the game.
MS Dhoni is the one player that seems to have turned back the clock and is clobbering balls during the death overs but there is no doubt he is beyond his best as a player.
That brings us to the bowling lineup. Now that the wickets have started to slow up a little, CSK is using as many spinners as it can in its lineup. Theekshana, Santner, and Jadeja played the previous match and it will be interesting to see if that combination remains the same now that a change of captaincy has been effected.
Team Guide
Make various team combinations with the help of these information.
Wicket keeper :
Nicolas Pooran :
Pooran is a attacking batter who can hit the ball out of the park easily. He has shown amazing potential with his batting skills In this season, he has not got much chances in batting so far. Scored 116 runs with a good average of 39. Best pick in wicket keeper section.
Ms Dhoni :
MS Dhoni is once again play as a captain, He has played some good innings this season. But he comes down to bat lower order, In 8 matches of this season, he has scored 132 runs with an impressive average of 44, including a half-century. Must have pick if CSK top order collapse earlier.
Batter :
Kane Williamson :
Kane Williamson is a key plyer for SRH, he has had a below-par season so far. However, his quality is pretty well known and it is just a matter of one big knock. He has scored 148 runs in 8 matches of the season at an average of 21. But Williamson has a good record against Chennai as he has scored 370 runs in 11 matches with average of 41 and SR of 134. Must have pick.
Ruturaj Gaikwad :
Ruturaj Gaikwad is a important plyer for CSK, the season started off very badly for them. But he has scored 103 runs in the last three matches. He made 30 runs off 27 deliveries in the last game against Punjab Kings. Apart from one innings, Gaikwad has not been able to replicate his last season's form. You can back him to do well in this match for the defending champions. Must have pick.
Robin Uthappa :
Robin Uthappa is looking in good touch he got a start almost every match but couldn't convert it to a big knock. He scored a brilliant 88 against Bangalore. After that, he has not been able to do anything special in the next three matches. He has played 8 matches this season, scoring 228 runs at an average of 29, including two half-centuries. Must have pick.
Ambati Rayudu :
Ambati Rayudu is in excellent form right now. He has been the backbone for CSK in the last three seasons. He starred with a magnificent 78(39)-run knock in the last match against PBKS, and almost won the game for CSK single-handedly. Overall, Rayudu has made 246 runs in eight matches. He has played innings of 78, 40 and 46 runs in the last 3 matches. Thus the he will be solid captain choice for this match.
Rahul Tripathi :
Rahul Tripathi is in pretty good form at the moment. He has been hitting the ball really well. He is currently the third top run-getter for SRH, scored 228 runs at an average of 45.60 and a strike rate of 174.04. He's unbeaten on 39 against CSK in their last meeting, could be a solid vice captaincy option.
Abhishek Sharma :
Abhishek Sharma is a dashing batting All-rounder looked in amazing touch with bat smashed 65 runs in 42 deliveries in last match against Gujarat titans. Overall he has made 285 runs in 8 matches at an average of 35.62 and a strike rate of 131.33 including 2 half-centuries. He is the current leading run-scorer for Sunrisers Hyderabad. Best choice for GL captain in today's match.
Shivam Dube :
Shivam Dube had scored three half-centuries in 5 matches at the start of this season. After that, he has not been able to do anything special in the next 3 matches. So far this season he has played eight matches without taking any wicket and has scored 247 runs in batting with an average of 35. But still he is the leading run-scorer from his side. Can play another big inning today's game, punt pick.
Shashank Singh :
Shashank Singh haven't got a chance to do anything in the season so far. He was bowled just over against KKR. Finally he got opportunity to bat for only once & first time in the tournament in the last game. He made 25 runs off 6 deliveries and helped the team reach a total of 195 runs. Risky pick.
All-rounder :
Ravindra Jadeja :
Ravindra Jadeja handed over the captaincy of CSK to Dhoni, might give him some more freedom to perform in the tournament. Currently, he has had a sedate run in this tournament so far made just 112 runs in 8 matches at an average of 22.40 and has taken 5 wickets at an economy of 8.19. However, he is a quality player and can be bounce back stronger. could be an effective choice as vice-captain.
Aiden Markram :
Aiden Markram is in fine form with the bat at the moment, he is backbone of the middle overs for SRH with his superb batting this season. He has accumulated 246 runs at an average of 123, in eight matches so far. Markram has scored 3 half-centuries & dismissed only twice in this season. He could earn healthy fantasy points with both bat & ball in this match. Another safest option for c/vc.
Dwaine Pretorius :
Dwaine Pretorius is a talented all rounder, having picked up 4 wickets at an economy of 9.14 while with scored 31 runs as well in 4 matches. Couldn't get any wickets in the last two matches. However, he is the good plyer shown in first two matches, can give some good fantacy points today.
Washington Sundar :
Washington Sundar missed some matches in the season due to injury, made a comeback in the last match in which he could not perform much, could not take any wicket with the bowling and could score only 3 runs with the bat. The season had started on a very good note, where he played an aggressive innings of 40 runs against Rajasthan. Hoping for a good performance in that match. So far this season he has played five matches, in which he has scored 61 runs and has also taken four wickets with the bowling. Must have pick.
Mitchell Santner :
Mitchell Santner has played only three matches in the season so far in which he has not been able to perform very well. Has taken only 2 wickets in bowling and scored only 20 runs in batting. However, he's able to contribute with both bat & ball, will be a differential pick for today.
Bowler :
Bhuvneshwar Kumar :
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has bowled really well for SRH. He has been brilliant in the power play and in the death overs as well. Kumar bowled well in the last game but not able to take any wicket. He has taken nine wickets in 8 matches so far. He is the main bowler of the team and he will be the best differential punt option for your fantasy team.
Dwayne Bravo :
Dwayne Bravo is a Star bowling all-rounder is still going strong at the highest level. With 14 wickets in eight matches, Bravo is indispensable to the Super Kings bowling unit for his skill and vast experience. The veteran seamer is one of the best in death-overs specialists in the IPL. He took two wickets each in the last two matches, before that, taking 3 wickets against Gujarat. Seems in excellent form, he is capable of contributing with the bat as well as bowling at crucial times. Will be the
the best captain choice from CSK for this match.
Umran Malik :
Umran Malik is one of the fastest bowler of IPL 2022. He's picked the first fifer of his T20 career in the last game against GT. Overall He has picked 15 wickets in 8 matches at an average of 15.93, an economy of 7.96, and a strike rate of 12. Hence, he might be a popular captaincy or vice-captaincy pick.
T Natarajan :
T Natarajan has been superb form he is a joint leading wicket taker for SRH with picked up 15 wickets from 8 matches at an average of 17.40. He is picked up 2 wickets when these teams last met earlier this this season. He can deliver maximum fantasy points, best captain choice from bowling department.
Maheesh Theekshana :
Maheesh Theekshana seems be bowling well in this season . He has picked up eight wickets in five games at an economy rate of 7.75. He has picked up at least a wicket in each of his last 4 games. He's always getting break through on critical occasions for CSK. Can pick wickets in bulk in this match, must have pick from CSK bowling.
Marco Jansen :
Marco Jansen is an excellent bowling all-rounder will be bowling the crucial overs and can hunt wickets in bunches. He has contributed 6 wickets for the Sunrisers. Spent 63 runs in his spell in the last match and could not manage to get any wicket, whereas in the previous match, he took three wickets while bowling brilliantly against Bengaluru. Similar performance will be expected in today's match. Punt pick.
Mukesh Choudhary :
Mukesh Choudhary has bowled very well for CSK this season. He has played seven matches so far in which he has taken 7 wickets. Couldn't get any wicket against Punjab in the last match. But before this, bowling well against Mumbai, he took three wickets for 19 runs in 4 overs. Good pick.
