Pitch Report :
The pitch at the DY Patil ground has a pitch that allows decent bounce to the bowlers but often it stays true. We can expect matches that produce scores in the vicinity of 160-170 as a standard fare. Overall, it is a surface that has help on offer for both departments.
The conditions are still loaded in favor of the batsmen. We think something around 170 is going to be par at this stadium.
Weather Report :
The temperature is expected to around 30°C on the Sunday with 64% humidity and 11 km/hr wind speed. There are no chances of rain during the game.

Preview :
The third match of the TATA IPL 2022 will see the battle between Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore. These two sides are still in search of their maiden IPL titles. Royal Challengers Bangalore made it to the Eliminator last season but were knocked out by the KKR. On the other hand, Punjab Kings ended their journey at the sixth spot on the points table last season.
RCB is going to be led by Faf du Plessis, who at this late stage in his career, is going to also be one of the main batters for RCB. Faf du Plessis had a lot of success with CSK and is probably the right choice for captain but we think his batting may provide diminishing returns at this stage in his career.
For the first time in their existence as an IPL team, RCB seems to be a better bowling lineup than it is a batting team. Harshal Patel, Mohammad Siraj, Wanindu Hasaranga, and David Willey are all likely to play the first match. Josh Hazelwood is not available and while that is a big blow, RCB still has a very good bowling attack.
Shahbaz may also find a place in the eleven as a spin-bowling all-rounder to add more options to the playing eleven.
The Punjab Kings have appointed Mayank Aggarwal as their captain for IPL 2022 and given him a pretty solid squad to work with. Like most other teams, PBKS is also going to be missing a couple of its key players. Jonny Bairstow is with the England team while Kagiso Rabada is also only going to be available from the second match on.
That means we could see a couple of their reserve overseas players get a game. The batting lineup is still very strong. Shikhar Dhawan has had two absolutely smashing IPL seasons before this one and will lead the batting once more. We always bet on Dhawan to score runs in the IPL and will be doing so once more.
His opening partner is likely to be Mayank Aggarwal and maybe Bhanuka Rajapaksa could play at number three (in place of Bairstow). Liam Livingstone at four will be followed by the all-rounders. Shahrukh Khan, Raj Bawa, and Odean Smith should all lineup here in flexible positions.
Team Guide
Make various team contributions with the help of these information.
Wicket keeper :
Dinesh Karthik:
Karthik was looking in brilliant form last season for the finalists KKR which earned him a total of 223 runs in 17 matches added with his performance behind the stumps that makes him a crucial contributor in the middle order best pick in keeping section.
Anuj Rawat:
Anuj Rawat is set to make his RCB debut and bat at the top of the order. The southpaw is an attack-minded batter who will not back down from a challenge. A decent player of both spin and pace, Rawat should be one to watch out for.
Batter :
Virat Kohli:
The leading run-scorer of the tournament, Kohli is beyond doubt, the undisputed king of IPL. After 9 long years of captaincy, the modern-day master is now relieved of the burden and will therefore look forward to enjoy his cricket. A big knock has illuded Kohli for the past 2 years and no stage can be bigger from the IPl to find his sublime touch back without a doubt default captain choice for everyone.
Shikhar Dhawan:
Shikhar Dhawan has been one of the most consistent players in recent seasons he scored the fourth-most runs in IPL 2019 (521), the second-most in 2020 (618) and fourth-most again in 2021 (587) at an overall average of 39.23 and strike rate of 134.63 in this period. He has solid numbers against RCB, with 656 runs in 25 innings at an average of 32.80 and strike rate of 121.48 Default captain choice for this match.
Faf du Plessis:
Faf has played anchor role from last couple of seasons and had a vital role in CSK’s IPL victory last year. He’ll once again open the innings this season and has had a good season with the bat in the BPL recently, he has 2835 Runs in 100 matches with healthy average 34.94, default C/VC choice.
Mayank Agrawal :
Mayank Agarwal has smashed 865 runs in the last two seasons at an overall average of 39.32 and strike rate of 147.86. And he has struck 195 runs in jsut 7 innings against RCB at an average of of 27.86 and strike rate of 145.52. very good C/VC choice.
Mahipal Lomror :
Mahipal Lomror was an important purchase for RCB given his ability to attack spin in the middle overs. He is very use with bat & bowl
Allrounder :
Liam Livingstone:
Liam Livingstone is an explosive player. He can hit sixes at will and is a game-changer with the bat in the middle-order. Moreover, he can be very effective with the ball. He has scored 119 runs in his 9 matches IPL career so far and will be a good choice here. .
Wanindu Hasaranga:
Wanindu Hasaranga has scored 345 runs along with 57 wickets in 35 matches which was not seen in his limited time last season but should push him to showcase his true strengths in this match best captain choice.
Glenn Maxwell:
Glenn Maxwell is a marvelous batting all-rounder. He is looking in great touch to lead the team and can add good fantasy points for his team in this encounter. He had scored 513 runs, including 6 half-centuries in the last edition of IPL, popular c/vc option.
Shahbaz Ahmad:
Shahbaz Ahmed has picked up 7 wickets and scored 59 runs in the last edition. Useful pick if batted in top 3.
Bowler :
Odean Smith :
Odean Smith is one to effective with both bat & ball. He struck quickfire 36 and 24 in the recent ODI series vs India, and took 22 wickets in 14 T20s in last year, he is a great punt pick for this match.
Harshal Patel:
Harahal Patel was the purple cap holder last season with a total of 32 wickets in 15 matches with a fantastic run before the 2nd half of the series which could be the case for this season that makes him our prime choice for captain if RCB bowl first.
Arshdeep Singh:
Arshdeep has 30 wickets in 23 matches with the economy of 8.78,
Death bowlers are always valuable from a fantasy perspective since wickets come, punt pick in bowling section.
Rahul Chahar:
Rahul chahar was able to play a brilliant role with his spin bowling skills which earned him 13 wickets in 11 matches for the Mumbai Indians which could lead to an improved game time for the Punjab Kings, useful pick for DY patil's pitch.
