Pitch Report :

The pitch at Sabina Park is perfectly balanced for both batters and bowlers in limited overs cricket. The new ball might move for the first couple of overs but the swing should fade away pretty quickly. New Zealand's pacers are likely to dominate the powerplay overs but batters can expect big scores in the middle overs as well as in death overs. The team, winning the toss will choose to bat first. Meanwhile, the pacers have an advantage on this pitch in the initial overs. The Spinners will surely have an advantage in the middle overs. Overall, It is a batting-friendly pitch. Therefore, we are going to see a high-scoring match.

The average first innings score here is 140 runs in recent matches.

The temperature is expected to hover around 28°C on Monday with 80% humidity and 18 km/hr wind speed. There are 10% chances of rain during the match.

Preview :

New Zealand have already clinched the T20I series against West Indies and now they will look to white-wash the hosts when both the side will clash in the third and final T20I.

In the second match, Glenn Phillips’ storming fifty helped New Zealand set a huge total of 215/5 in 20 overs and then bundle Windies to 125/9. Undoubtedly Mitchell Santner (3/15) and Michael Bracewell (3/15, one maiden over) went amazing with the bowl.

With this, New Zealand have taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the three-match series.

Chasing a huge target, West Indies had a poor start and more than half the team returned to the pavilion till the total score of 40 runs. Odeb McCoy top-scored with 23 not out, followed by Rovman Powell's 21 and Romario Shepherd's 18.

Five players could not reach the two tens figure resulting to which the side scored 125 runs for the loss of 9 wickets in 20 overs and felt short by 90-runs.

Earlier, batting after winning the toss, New Zealand scored 215 runs for the loss of 5 wickets. Glenn Phillips scored 76 runs in 41 balls with the help of four fours and six sixes. Daryl Mitchell scored 48 runs in 20 balls. For West Indies, Odeb McCoy took three wickets,

West Indies once again failed with the bat and although seven different batters hit a six for the team, they could only get 125 runs in 20 overs. This shows that the West Indian batting is filled with power and depth but they just are not being judicious enough with their shot selection.

Also, it looks like teams have found a simple way to get the better of the West Indian batters. Just bowl as much spin to them as possible.

New Zealand's batters played brilliantly and set the game up for the bowlers. Conway, Guptill, and Mitchell played important cameos while Glenn Phillips played the inning of the match in the middle and ended up 76 of just 41 deliveries.

New Zealand's batting is certainly better at combating different conditions and is a lot more consistent. We think you can bet on New Zealand to hit more sixes and fours in this next match as well.

Santner and Bracewell have dominated the bowling charts so far and they could continue to pose more problems for the West Indians. Ish Sodhi has not had the success that the other spinners have but you don't want to count him out just yet.
