'Gill will swallow the trio of Dhoni, Kohli, Rohit': Former Indian on IPL final

 

Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill is single-handedly knocking out the big names of IPL 2023 with his match-winning hundreds.

His second century this season against RCB at Chinnaswamy, Gill has given Virat Kohli another heartbreak ahead of the playoffs. With a record knock of 129 against Mumbai in Qualifier 2 on Friday, Gill ended Mumbai Indians' bid for a sixth IPL trophy. The legendary MS Dhoni is pitted against Gill in the final for the second consecutive season with Gujarat Titans. And a former India fast bowler strongly believes that Dhoni will face the same fate as Kohli and Rohit.

Given Gill's form and the final in Ahmedabad, where the GT opener scored over 500 runs, the most by a batsman at one venue this season, Atul Wassan in a chat with ABP News agreed that Dhoni should be included in the list as the next victim.

“I feel Gill will gobble up the trio of Dhoni, Kohli, Rohit because of the way he is batting. I feel next in line is Mahi. Even the Gujarat Titans team has looked excellent. Mumbai was in the game with Suryakumar Yadav there, but Gujarat has a good bowling depth as well. Despite coming in as a new team, they have made an impact. We had seen such formidability from CSK.
