South Africa 55, India all out at 153; Team India still ahead by 36 runs
23 wickets fell on the first day of the second Test being played between India and South Africa. The fast bowlers of both the teams took all the wickets. South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first at the Newlands Stadium in Cape Town, but the team was all out for 55 runs. Mohammad Siraj took 6 wickets from India.
Team India also could not do anything special in its first innings and was limited to 153 runs. However, the team got a lead of 98 runs. Virat Kohli scored 46 runs, while 7 batsmen could not even open the account. 3 bowlers of South Africa took 3-3 wickets.
South Africa started its second innings in the third session itself. By the end of the day's play, the team had scored 62 runs at the loss of 3 wickets. However, the team is still trailing India by 36 runs and has 7 wickets left.
South Africa all out in the first session
In Cape Town, South Africa won the toss and chose to bat first, but the team could last only 23.2 overs. Its 11 players together could score only 55 runs. This was South Africa's smallest score against India in Test cricket. Kyle Varian scored 15 runs and David Bedingham scored 12 runs. The rest of the batsmen could not even cross the score of 6 runs.

Fast bowler Mohammad Siraj from India took 6 wickets for just 15 runs. He sent Aiden Markram, Dean Elgar, Tony De Georgi, David Bedingham, Kyle Varian and Marco Yanson to the pavilion. This was the best bowling of his Test career. Apart from Siraj, Jasprit Bumrah and Mukesh Kumar got 2-2 wickets.
India scored 111 runs in the second session
India started its first innings in the second session. The team lost 4 wickets in scoring 111 runs. After the fall of the first wicket, captain Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill took the team to 72 runs. From here Rohit (39 runs), Shubhman (36 runs) and Shreyas (0) were out and the team's score went from 72/1 to 111/4. Nandre Berger took 3 wickets from South Africa.

In the third session, India had scored 42 runs without loss. KL Rahul was not out on the score of 8 and Virat Kohli on 46 runs. India got a lead of 98 runs in the first innings.
The test may end on the second day itself
At the end of the first day's play, South Africa's opener Aiden Markram remained not out after scoring 36 runs and David Bedingham remained not out after scoring 7 runs. Both will lead South Africa's innings in the second day's play. The second day's play will start at 1:30 pm IST on Thursday
