Australia's new National Pace Bowling Coach is Adam Griffith, a former fast bowler from Tasmania. Griffith's playing career and numerous coaching positions have given him a wealth of experience. At the National Cricket Centre in Brisbane, he will be in charge of training fast bowlers, managing their preparation, and assisting with coaching projects.
Coaching Experience
Griffith made a smooth transition into teaching, starting in 2011 as Western Australia's bowling coach under Mickey Arthur. Griffith was elevated to assistant coach for Western Australia after Arthur was named head coach of the Australian national team.
Following Craig McDermott's resignation, Griffith was named Australia's bowling coach for the West Indies trip in April 2016. He went back to his roots the following year, in April 2017, when he was appointed Tasmania's head coach. With his participation in the Indian Premier League (IPL), when he began teaching the Royal Challengers Bangalore's fast bowling in 2020, Griffith's coaching skill set improved.
Head Coach Said
Following the appointment of a new bowling coach, head coach Andrew McDonald stated of Adam Griffith, "Adam's experience in all forms will be important in the preparation of pace bowlers for Australia's national men's teams."
Background Of Griffith
Griffith's journey from a player to a well-respected coach shows his ongoing love for Australian cricket. His extensive domestic and international experience puts him in a good position to coach and develop Australia's fast bowling talent, both now and in the future.
