Amit Mishra Announced Retirement From All Cricket Formats

After an outstanding 25-year career, veteran Indian leg-spinner Amit Mishra, 42, has declared his retirement from all professional cricket tournaments. On September 4, 2025, the announcement was made on social media. 

Stats & Achievements

  • He has taken 156 international wickets while playing for India in 10 T20Is, 36 ODIs, and 22 Test matches.
  • His only five-wicket Test innings came in Mohali in 2008, making it a memorable Test debut.
  • He had a very successful IPL career, being the only bowler in IPL history to record three hat-tricks (across Delhi, Deccan Chargers, and Sunrisers Hyderabad) and the eighth-highest wicket-taker with 174 wickets in 162 games.
  • Didn't participate in the 2025 tournament and last played tournament cricket for the Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2024.

In his retiring message, Mishra expressed his sincere thanks:
