Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin completed his 500 wickets in Test cricket. He has become only the second Indian bowler to reach this milestone. Before him, Anil Kumble had achieved this feat in 105 matches.

Ashwin achieved this milestone when the off-spinner dismissed England's Jack Crawley on the second day of the third Test match against England in Rajkot. Ashwin has become the ninth bowler in the world to achieve this feat.

Ashwin has reached 500 wickets in the 98th Test. He is second in the list of bowlers who have taken 500 wickets in the fewest Tests. Only Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan had completed 500 wickets in fewer matches (87).

Ashwin got the most wickets in India only, in that also Wankhede Stadium gave him the most success. He played a total of 5 matches on this ground in Mumbai and took 38 wickets. Ashwin has got 30 wickets in 4 matches at his home ground Chepauk Stadium.

Ashwin has the most wickets abroad in Australia. He played a total of 10 Tests at the Kangaroos' home ground and took 39 wickets. Apart from this, he has 38 wickets in 6 Tests in Sri Lanka. Ashwin has 347 wickets in 58 matches in India.
