Ashwin will become the 14th Indian player to play 100 tests

Indian off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin will play the 100th match of his Test career in Dharamshala. He will become the 14th player from India to play 100 Tests. He will be the 77th player in the world to achieve this milestone.
Ashwin will be only the fifth bowler in India's 92-year Test history to play 100 or more Tests. Before him, Anil Kumble, Kapil Dev, Ishant Sharma and Harbhajan Singh had achieved this feat.
Apart from Ashwin, this will also be the 100th Test match of England's Jonny Bairstow. He will become the 17th English player to play 100 Tests.
The last match of the five-match Test series between India and England will be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association Stadium in Dharamshala from March 7. India is leading 3-1 in the series.
Ashwin will be the fourth active Indian to play 100 tests.
Before Ashwin, 13 Indian players had achieved the feat of playing 100 Tests. Former star batsman Sachin Tendulkar is at the top in this list. At second place is the current head coach of Team India, Rahul Dravid. Ashwin will be the fourth active Indian player after Virat Kohli, Cheteshwar Pujara and Ishant Sharma to complete a century in Test matches.
Ishant Sharma played his last international match in 2021. After that he is away from international cricket, but till now he has not taken official retirement.
England players played most 100 tests
The players who have played the most 100 matches in the history of Test cricket are from England. So far 16 players from England have achieved this milestone. Australia is at second place in this list. Whereas India's name is at number three in this list.
