Chasing 170, Sri Lanka starts strong, with openers Pathum Nissanka and Kusal Mendis given a strong start. After losing Pathum in the 22nd run, Sri Lanka continues. Kusal Mendis played an incredible knock of 74 runs, and also made a partnership with Kusal Perera. Sri Lanka achieved the target at 18.4 overs. Afghanistan bowling: Mohammad Nabi, Mujeeb Ur Rahman, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Noor Ahmad each took 1 wicket.
 

Sri Lanka Won, Bangladesh Qualify

This win over Afghanistan not only eliminated Afghanistan but also qualified Bangladesh. Sri Lanka indirectly qualifies, but thus the result is that Sri Lanka and Bangladesh officially qualify for the Super 4 stage. 

Now, four qualified teams (India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh) are ready to take on the challenge of the Super 4 stage. Super 4 starts from 20 September, with the Sri Lanka and Bangladesh match.
