Asia Cup 2025 6th Match: INDIA Won By 7 Wickets, Kuldeep’s 3 Wickets

On 14 September, the sixth match of the Asia Cup 2025 was played between India and Pakistan in Dubai. India beat Pakistan by 7 wickets. Kuldeep Yadav took 3 wickets. 

After a four-day military confrontation in May 2025 that was brought on by the Pahalgam terror assault, this was the first time India and Pakistan had met. Tensions and emotions ran high. 

Match Summary

Spin dominance by India, Pakistan’s batting collapse scored 127

After winning the toss, Pakistan came to bat, and Pakistan's powerplay batting collapsed. They were under pressure right away and lost early wickets. Saim Ayub was gone with a duck by Hardik. After 2 overs of power play, Mohammad Haris was bowled by Bumrah. In the power play, Pakistan scored 42/2. 

After the power play, Fakhar and Farhan built the inning in the idle overs. Fakhar Zaman was out in the score of 17 by Axar Patel, and Sahibzada Farhan played well, scoring 40 runs. Then he got out by Hardik. Other Pakistani players have not scored more than 10 runs. In the end, Shaheen Shah Afridi's late surge of 33* from 16 balls gave the total a respectable total of 127.

Indian spinners dominated like Kuldeep Yadav: amazing middle-over pressure, 3 wickets, 18 runs. Axar Patel provided excellent spin support and made an important contribution to the dissolution of alliances.

Strong start by India in the chase, India chase the target in 15.5 overs

Chasing 128 scored, the chase was made easier by Abhishek Sharma's brilliant powerplay hitting. Gill also assists him. Abhishek Sharma scored 31 off 16 balls, and S Gill scored 10 in 7 runs. In the power play, India scored almost half the target, 61/2.

Tilak Varma made a consistent contribution in the middle overs with 31 off 31. The skipper, Suryakumar Yadav, started the chase and ended it with a six with a score of 47* off 37.

Pakistan's bowling struggled; only Saim Ayub, one of Pakistan's bowlers, took all three wickets.  Other Pakistani bowlers have no impact on the game.

Boycott Match

After the terror incident, there were considerable public appeals in India to boycott the game, particularly from political organizations and the relatives of the dead.

Handshake Issue

Indian players did not shake hands with their Pakistani counterparts following the game. Mike Hesson, the coach of Pakistan, was disappointed. Salman Ali Agha, the captain of Pakistan, did not attend the post-match presentation ceremony either.

 

India is almost in the Super 4 Race, and Pakistan needs to improve its Batting lineup

India won back-to-back games in the group stage after defeating Pakistan. India nearly booked their place in the Super 4s with their victory. India's final group match against Oman took place in Abu Dhabi on September 19. 

Pakistan, on the other hand, lost ground in the group as a result of their poor performance, particularly in their batting.
