Chasing 203, Sri Lanka had a rough beginning. Padya dismissed Kusal Mendis on zero. His maiden century of 107 was smashed by Nissanka&#39;s fluid 48, but India responded with Rana, who swiftly destroyed Nissanka&#39;s. After K Parera&#39;s counterattacking performance of 58, Sri Lanka&#39;s momentum was slowed by wickets taken at regular intervals.

When Varun struck twice in the 12th over, breaking the partnership and dismissing K Parea, the match swung in India&#39;s favor. Dasun Shanaka made a valiant 22 off 11 to try to salvage hope as the needed run rate increased, scoring 202. The game went to a super over.
