Australia's selectors have given Marnus Labuschagne a lifeline by putting him in the ODI team for the Australia vs India Series 2025, which was a surprise but not wholly unexpected move given that all-rounder Cameron Green was sidelined due to a side issue.
With the Ashes series approaching, Green's setback has compelled cricket officials to reorganize their limited-overs preparations in advance of a pivotal summer.
Green’s Injury
Cricket Australia has declared 26-year-old Green's "low-grade side soreness" the reason for his exclusion from the Three-match one-day international (ODI) series against India.
Medical personnel reportedly took precautions after the ailment surfaced during training before the first ODI.
Labuschagne’s Return & Form Surge

Labuschagne has demonstrated his consistency and willingness to rejoin the ODI team by scoring four centuries in his previous five Sheffield Shield games.
Additionally, he scored two of those hundreds in the 50-over format, demonstrating that his red-ball form is also translating to one-day cricket.
