Starc Returns To Bolster ODI Attack

After missing recent limited-overs games due to injury management, Mitchell Starc is back in the ODI team. His return adds firepower to Australia’s pace battery with Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood. Starc’s ability to swing the new ball and strike early will be important against India’s top-heavy batting lineup.

Inglis And Ellis Back For T20s

In the T20 setup, Josh Inglis and Nathan Ellis make their return. Inglis, noted for his aggressive middle-order batting and wicketkeeping ability, strengthens the batting options. Ellis, one of the most dependable death bowlers in the Big Bash League, has earned his position after an outstanding domestic season.

Their returns suggest Australia is keen to experiment with combinations ahead of the T20 World Cup, with selectors searching for a balance between experience and emerging potential.

Maxwell’s Omission Raises Eyebrows

But the main talking point is that Glenn Maxwell was left off both white-ball teams. Maxwell, who has been a key player in Australia’s limited-overs team for years, has reportedly been left out due to form issues and fitness management. While not officially ruled out, sources believe the selectors want him to get back to regularity before the home summer.
