AUS v SA Series 2025 3rd ODI: Aus Won By 276 Runs, Head 142

On 24 August, the 3rd and final ODI of the Australia v South Africa series 2025 was played at the Great Barrier Reef Arena, Mackay. Australia beat South Africa in the last match by 276 runs. Tread Head, Mitchell Marsh, and Cameron Green smashed massive centuries. The 3-match ODI series was won by South Africa 2-1.

Mitchell Marsh (100) and Travis Head (142 off 103 balls) formed a dominant opening partnership of 250 runs, laying the groundwork for an enormous total. The innings was then energized by Cameron Green, who scored the second-fastest ODI century by an Australian with an undefeated 118 off just 55 balls. The final score for the hosts was 431 for 2, which was the most on home soil versus South Africa and their second-highest ODI total ever.

South Africa’s collapse, All-out under just 155

South Africa's reply saw them collapse to 155 all out in just 24.5 overs. The youthful left-arm spinner Cooper Connolly stole the show with an incredible 5 for 22, taking advantage of the Proteas bowling lineup's lack of speed. Tony de Zorzi (33) and Dewald Brevis (49), despite their brief resistance, were unable to stop the fall. Temba Bavuma, the captain of South Africa, acknowledged that his team had been defeated right away.
