Australia Women's team defeated India by 3 runs in the second ODI match. With this, Australia has taken an unassailable 2-0 lead in the 3-match ODI series. Australia had won by 6 wickets in the first ODI.
Australia won the toss and decided to bat first at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday. The team scored 258 runs losing 8 wickets in 50 overs. In reply, the Indian team could score only 255 runs after losing 8 wickets in 50 overs.
Phoebe Litchfield (63), Elise Perry (50) played half-centuries. Whereas, Annabel Sutherland got 3 wickets. For India, Deepti Sharma took 5 wickets and Richa Ghosh missed her century after scoring 96 runs.
The third and last match of the series will be held on January 2 at Wankhede Stadium. After this, both the teams will play a series of 3 T-20 matches.
Australia started strong, middle order faltered
Captain Alyssa Healy and Phoebe Litchfield opened the innings for Australia. Healy returned to the pavilion after scoring 13 runs, she became the victim of Pooja Vastrakar. Elise Perry came at number three and handled the innings with Phoebe. There was a partnership of 77 runs between the two batsmen. Deepti Sharma broke this partnership by taking the wicket of Perry in the 24th over. Perry returned to the pavilion after scoring 50 runs.
The third wicket fell in the form of Beth Mooney, she was out after scoring 10 runs. Phoebe was out after scoring 63 runs in 98 balls. After this Australia failed to make any major partnership.
Tahlia McGrath returned to the pavilion after scoring 24 runs, Ashley Gardner 2 runs, Annabel Sutherland 23 runs and Georgia Wareham 22 runs. Alana King played some shots in the end and scored 28 runs in 17 balls. Kim Garth remained unbeaten with him after scoring 11 runs.
Deepti took 5 wickets

Deepti Sharma remained unbeaten on 24 runs and Shreyanka Patil remained unbeaten on 5 runs.

Sneh Rana injured, taken for scan
Indian all-rounder Sneh Rana got injured after colliding with Pooja Vastrakar during the match. After Rana complained of headache, he was taken for a scan. The team included Harleen Deol in the squad as her concussion replacement.
The incident occurred in the 25th over of the first innings, when Rana went from short third to her left and Vastrakar to her right from backward point, in an attempt to stop a cut by left-handed batsman Beth Mooney.
During this, Rana's head collided with Vastrakar and both the players fell on the ground. Rana was immediately taken off the field and the physio applied ice to his head.
