Warner became emotional in the press conference held in Sydney on Monday, January 1, and said that I am retiring from ODI cricket also. This was something that I said during the ODI Cup. Winning the ODI World Cup in India is a big achievement.
'I have today decided to retire from that format, which allows me to play in other leagues around the world and help the ODI team grow a bit. I know the Champions Trophy is coming. If I am playing good cricket in two years' time and they need someone, I will be there.
Will focus on T-20
Warner has announced his retirement from ODI and Test to concentrate on T20. He can be a part of the Australia team in the T20 World Cup to be held in West Indies and America in June. At the same time, after the end of the Test series against Pakistan, he will play at least four matches for Sydney Thunder in the Big Bash. After this he can play for Dubai Capitals in ILT20. He has requested for NOC from Cricket Australia to play in the ILT20 league. In this, the first match of Dubai team will be played on 21 January.
